Default Vanquish Products La Guerra en Rocas Roja Numero Tres

We'd like to welcome you all back to Colorful Crawlerado for the 3rd running of the Vanquish Products La Guerra en Rocas Rojo.

This years event will be held July 15th-17th, 2011, and is part of the USRCCA Championship series and a qualifier for the 2011 USRCCA Nationals.

Ticket sales are now open.

http://rocasrojo3.eventbrite.com/

We will open entry to 60 2.2 rigs, 20 super rigs, and 20 1.9 rigs. We can move the numbers around a little bit if we need to for the 1.9 and superclasses.

From the feedback we received last year people were wanting discounts for running multiple classes. There is no way to do this that doesn't require us having to go back and issue refunds. So what we decided to do was to lower the entry fees in the 1.9 and super classes for everyone, we figure 95% of the competitors in those classes run the 2.2 class anyway.

In the years past we have limited registration to Colorado drivers, that will not happen this year, once registration goes public, it goes public for everyone.

Those with a keen eye will also notice that we added a scaler comp to the lineup this year for sundays festivities. The scaler comp will be held on the same property but in a different location. If you run the 1.9's or superclass, and the scaler comp you will be on your own as far as time management goes between the 2 events.

Here are the general rules for the scale competition.

Batalla de los escaladores

Entry fee- $20.00
Amount of Drivers -40
Course lengths- 10+minutes
Number of courses- 4
Days winner will receive a trophy
Pictures will be taken of the top three drivers together

Rig specs:

-Must have at least 10 scale points. The 10 scale points are what make the vehicle qualified for the class.
-These points come from: winch(1), hilift jack(1), tow strap(1), pull pal(1), working lights (1 for each pair), rock sliders (2), bumpers (2 for each) , hardbody cab(2), hardbody bed (2), interior (2, 2d or 3d), full size spare (2), on chassis steering (2), functional beadlocks(1).
-Max tire size of 5.7 inches
-All scale sizes allowed
-No limit on wheel size
-Chassis must extend over axles
-No Moa
-Winching is allowed but must be winched from a fixed object.

Class specifications:

-Drivers will partner up and be judged by one another
-Partners will be chosen randomly day of event
-Courses will be scored on time only, gates must be completed in there intended direction.
-If course can not be completed a max time will be given to the driver based on the course length.
- On course repairs are allowed but time does not stop.
-Rollovers are allowed, but vehicle must be stop before roll over can be done.
-No repositions
-Drivers will start 30 seconds apart from one another.
-Passing is encouraged.
-Driver etiquette is recommended, but not set in stone. (I.E. allowing a pass). Remember if another driver catches you he is already beating you.
- There will be an official course start person for the class, who will give the go to start each course.
-Once course is completed driver and judge must check in with score keeper to give time for course.

Course Outline:

-Gates will be a minimum width of 12 inches
-Courses will be judged on time only, each group of partners will be given score sheets and a timer.
-Course will be marked with flags of two different colors, each color will indicate which side the vehicle must be on. (ex: red will be on the left, yellow on the right).
-Gates will only have an intended direction not an intended order.* pending trial and may change before this event.*
-maps of course layout will be given to each group of drivers

We will have hotel info for you in the next few days.

Probably not, there is not really any place for that to happen at Red Rocks, but we don't control the weather.

Ticket bought for the scale comp.

Question: Will I be able to run my Class-3 EB with rear steer? Really asking if I can use rear steer or not.

If you want to you are more then welcome to run rear steer.

We left the rules pretty loose so just about any rig will fit the guidelines.

You might want to bring a sweat band and camel back though.

Sweet! Thanks Ty, I kinda thought that but wanted to make sure first. I'll have plenty of back up rigs if need be though.

So what your saying is we're going for a hike!

This may just change my mind to go, or i may just need to highly consider going to wal-mart and buy a pair of shorts and appropriate footwear for them. I do have a camel back though, with axle straps to hold my crawler

Are we allowed to use the Camel Bak to water down the course behind us as we go?

And if Shon is bringing rear steer, then I better get busy on that new 2.2 and my RIB!

Love the format for this....can't wait!!

They are just outside of being legal

http://store.rc4wd.com/Mickey-Thomps...r-_p_1502.html

can this be amended or still sticking with the 5.7 inch tire size for scale?
