I got one in the hope of mountin the tracks to my clod..except the hex is like less than 10mm...anyone know what size it is?? The truck itself isnt that good..too much plastic..The steering with the tracks on it sucks, but with the tyres its a good 'cheap' truck.. But yeh, Hoopefully I can get the tracks to fit if a company makes an adapter... |

Hello, I'm new to the RC Rock Crawling scene and this is my first post on this site. My first vehicle is the RS Ford F350 with the Mattracks feature. Got it less than half price after Xmas. I tossed the cheap stock plastic body and built up an aluminum tube structure and cab to come up with a sort of Artic/Desert explorer vehicle (I'll post some images as soon as I get the hang of doing it on this site.). I finally got to try it on our rock garden this afternoon and it worked great. I even got to master the hair trigger thorttle and got the vehicle to properly crawl over the rounded stones properly. One problem though, I noticed splitting and cracking sarting to develop on all the tracks when I was cleaning the model this evening. It looks like the track rubber is actually perishing and cracking. Definitely not from the stress of crawling, cause I only used the model for only 20 minutes max out there. The model might have been sitting too long in the shop and the track rubber is just old. Anyone else having this problem with their tracks?? Per the previous post on this thread, it looks like you could get replacements from RS, but I don't get the different Part Numbers cause the tracks all look identical. I have a message posted to Radio Shack.com and hopefully they will cover the tracks as a warranty item. I'll keep everyone posted on what the outcome is. Beck Nubee RC Rock Crawler |

ya i got one of thoose for x-mas.. And This truck is Awesome!! I put on the Tires and ventured out in the street and this thing screams. Charged up the battery, while waiting for it to charge I slapped on the Mattracks and took it off-road. I drove it through the snow, mud, rocks. It has Good suspension flex, lots of torgue to climb obstacles. I drive this thing hard, and it pretty much makes a joke of everything I throw at it. Im gonan build a plow for the winter and im gonna mod it. Thinking Upgrade the shocks, New motor |

I used to work at Radioshack. The manual should have a parts list somewhere. If it doesn't for some reason you can go into a radioshack and ask. They'll be able to call into the order center and get the price for you. Don't let them say tehy can't. They work off commission so many will try to turn you down with stupid replies. As long as it isn't discontinued they can get any part for that truck. Some might be assemblies however. Like instead of only a tread it may be the wheel assembly with tread on it. Prices are fair though. |

You're right about the suspension movement, there's a lot of it available, so it never gets hung up on rocks. The Ford F350 version's chassis has a slight advantage over the Hummer version. The Ford has two shocks at each corner, giving it more spring capacity to handle any added weight from mods like I did on mine. I really hope I can buy spare tracks for it though, before they discontinue the line. |

I dunno about the axle hex drive size, but I suspect that the smaller RS models have different/simpler hub carrier and drive systems that which might not only have different sized hexs, but also some wheel offset and spindle legnth differences. BTW, I ran my modded truck/crawler on the ballon tires for the first time this weekend, and as one of the previous posters mentioned, the thing is FAST! I think the truck was doing at least 30 MPH flat out. I also tried crawing the boulders in our rock garden with the baloon tires on, and it goes juat about as good as on the mattracks, except for the lower bottom clearnce on the biggest rocks. I mangae to go over everything using back and forth throttle play and momentum. This is the best "toy" I've bought in years. So good that I snatched another one on clearance at RS for $44.95 as a second/spares vehicle. I got the last one marked for the clearance price. They have others that came in after Xmas already marked up to $79.00. I might dump the body on the second one and build up another version of my "Globe Trekker"! | |

Nice ride Beck! My question is why is everyone wanting to just strip these down, how about adding Traxxas or other HopUps to the current chassis? I have one of these and I am bored with it but I have been thinking why not just add some T-Maxx or other, suspention arms, shock, axles, .....ect. By chance could someone or anyone anyone give me the demintions of the inner mounting holes (inside to inside) of the suspention arms? |
