not a crawler.. but its scale and i figured some of you would like it

i had a left over tlt axel from the indy build, so i decided to build a pre runner style truck..

started on the frame and front suspention today

can you tell i really like this body?

Let us know how the TLT rear works out for you.As for the front what are your ideas for shock location? I am very interested in this build,I'll be checking back in dude!

as for the front shocks, i am going to fix the steering knuckle mount to the lower arm, so that i have the extreme camber change in suspention movement you see on 1:1 rigs with this style suspention, im thinking the front shocks will mount to the caster block. and i will use trailing arms to sop forward and back movement..

i also plan in building a bed cage and such..

nice! I hope my "Tacoma tuber" post helped this idea get started. Someone actually persued it! I love that body too, and can't wait to see the final result. Is the rear TLT axle un-locked? please tell me your going to run a FAST modified motor in that!?

the "idea" has been around for a while..

but the monster garage last week and your post made me pull it back outta the box and continue the build..

the rear is locked.. im gonna need as mutch traction as i can get with 2wd..

and it will get a hot motor (brushless when the one i want is released)

i will try to get my dad to take pics of my race truck it is set up alot like that with the cross pitman arm suspension on the frunt soldi rear axle

Wow that's a cool build! One thing to make sure you do is make sure that the mounts where the I beams connect to the frame are VERY strong. On the real trucks, those seem to bust under high speed/pressure applications. Awesome job so far on it! I can't wait to see how you figure out the steering. Are you going to flare out the fenders at all?

Oh man, totally awesome. Now it looks like I need one of these ASAP. I just want to watch a tiny truck dart effortlessly across scale dunes. The thought of it is giving me the happy tingle.

no look at the arms duide they sit even the way he made them on has a curve that shoots to the frunt and the other gose to the rear of the truck look close

yeah the beams sit even, just fliped one the opposite way..

as for buildign a lot.. well i keep buying tlt kits, and i gotta do something with them..

and yes im waiting for the mamba system... from what i hear it is going to be WELL worth the money

i need to decide if i want to use a pede tranny, or a emaxx one..

the 2 spd on the max would be sweet... but the pede is smaller

From what ive heard about bushless i would run a pede. The reason being is how much torque it has. You can gear high enough to reach high speeds and low enough that the brushless will still turn the tires. With the maxx tranny you would have to run a 3 channel reciver, extra mini servo, and just a heavier trans. that will weigh you down while your flying through the sand.
