I didn't include the WK tranny as It was still very new when this was written and I hadn't seen one used.

I may as it as some point as I'm sure new trannys will come out that we can use in our crawlers.

Yeah, there's a lot you can shave off a pede tranny. 5150bronco, you should post a pic of your tranny for an example.

Yeah, 5150, do you have a pic of it? No worries if ya don't, that was my next move. Just dremel the hell out of it. I think I can set it up to where my center console covers it.

Just so the guide is historically correct......the Stealth tranny was nothing but a copy of the MIP 3 gear tranny, that was out a good two years before the Stealth Tranny made its debut at the 1989 Worlds in the original Stealth prototype car.

So the basis of all 3 gear trannys is the MIP.....not the Stealth.

Here is a complete R2 gear ratio list I came up with last night.

8 = 30.38:1
9 = 27:1
10 = 24.3:1
11 = 22.09:1
12 = 20.25:1
13 = 18.69:1
14 = 17.36:1
15 = 16.2:1
16 = 15.19:1
17 = 14.29:1
18 = 13.5:1
19 = 12.79:1
20 = 12.15:1

Anyone here know if I can replace the stock TLT tranny with the R2 tranny on the stock TLT chassis? If not, what modification I need to make to make the R2 tranny works with the stock TLT chassis? Thanks for any info.

You can, but it's not a great idea, if your going that cool with the tranny, pay an extra $50 and get a vertical Smile from Double J or something and make a nice crawler. A chassis makes a world of difference.

Don't you mean xx drive cups for a xx, and xxx for xxx????

If you go on Losi's site, they list "Molded Outdrives" for a XX, and another set for the XXX....

I have a BK XX CR tranny and have XX outdrives...

Hey, I dont have a pic, just trying to figure out how to post a pic since I dont have a star....but what I can say is I shaved and cut everything off that I could...........Everything! Then grind it down so it is smooth and thin.....

It is still a pede, but it is significantly smaller and so it works for me....

Good luck choppin away

so is it possible to order all the parts for a Stealth tranny from lets say towerhobbies? I found an RC10 t3 tranny, would that be a good one to use?

The T3 will work fine, the T4 is better though.

Hell, I have a buddy who just built his first TLT using an old Ultima Tranny, works AWESOME. but it's a little wierd with the 3 outside gears in addition to the internal ones.

Strang setup. But it works.

Yes, they Evader tranny has been used successfully in a crawler.

Mounting a drive shaft to the Evader tranny should be similar to the Stealth and Losi tranny.

I have been running a evader tranny in my tlt for about 5 months now,using revo shafts and lock the ball diff and lock the slipper down tight,no problem so far. I am running also a 93 tooth 48 pitch spur gear with a 15 tooth pinion its close to rubbing the drive shaft but it will work.
