| My Cherokee Build.
So, I finally got the body and accessories today. I figured you al wanted to see it. So here it is: Here it is with the Fywheel MTR's under it. They are a tad small, but we'll have to see them when the rest of the truck is put together. A shot with everything that was included. Lucky me... A shot of some of the hardware and logos. This stuff is small! The shackles will be modified to look more round, like the real thing. Here is a closeup of some hardware and logos. The big screw is a standard 3mm one! So there it is. Plans: King Hauler rear axle, Front axle ?? A chassis (dont know which one) Black R2 tranny possible punisher shafts BFG's or MTR's (depends on size) Leafs in the rear, coils up front Turned down TLT shocks all around Winch Frame mounted servo Full lights Full interior Delrin front and rear bumper Nao's winch up front Scale Gas tank skid Scale exhaust And here is what I'm trying to replicate: Last edited by mrwonderful; 10-01-2007 at 07:38 PM. |

Hi, glad to see that your body has arrived! Just a Info, I'm just working on the bushwacker cut out flares. These will work very well with the highlift-tires. Regards Stefan Last edited by scaleoffroad; 04-14-2007 at 01:56 AM. |

Your 1:1 looks good. Is that a Hansen bumper? Can't wait to see the progress. |

Yes, your 1:1 looks very good! I would be very happy, if it would be possible here in Germany to make such nice modifications as you can do in the US. It's very, very difficult for us here to get our jeeps street legalize with offroad modifications like big wheels, bumpers and suspension upgrades ... you have a paradise for that kind of modifications Stefan |

looks good so far bro. if you wanted you could use cut and downsized mashers to match your tires fairly well. both trucks look sweet though.

It's not my Jeep. It was going to be, but the seller decided I shouldn't have it, and sold it to someone else.

'Bout time for an update me thinks, so I started working on the front bumper. It sure was a pain in the butt. First I did a rough cut, and then went back and filed and sanded the edges. I still have a lot to do, but that's for another day. Here is what I was shooting for. I started with this. Then ended with this. The bumper will sit right below the grill, so there won't be that big ugly piece of plastic showing. The winch tucks in closely to the body to help approach angles. The bottom will be filed to an angle to help is slide over things. Before filing and smoothing. After filing and smoothing (still needs more smoothing.) Things to finish: Back along body sides angling the bottom small stinger recess for the winch holes for lights shackle mounts. |

Thanks. I got the winch from someone I go crawling with. Incidentally, he is the same person who made the truggy frame you go, Nao. I believe he goes by panasonic here. Usually, he just makes black ones, but he painted mine for me. I still have to add small wires to it to make it more scale. Here's his thread over on the NERCC forum. I wish I could've gotten the rolling model, I just couldn't bring up the money.

Some wires will really make the winch look real, as it looks great already. | |

I got the idea from BADD. He made it look amazing, so I figured I might as well give it a shot.

That is sweet looking, I was just looking at BADD's thread and was wondering where he got that winch. I would like to get a Winch, Pick Axe and his Cooler and 5 gallon bucket. Those are sweet. I would like to see what else he has in his arsenal of scale items. |

He's been pretty busy lately, so I dont know if he'll be making anything for a little while, but he may have a few things left over. Did a bit more work. I took the shackles and made them a little closer to the real thing. I only had to break 3 to get 2 the way I needed them. They are also made out of what appears to be brass, and are very easily bent. I don't think I'll be able to actually use these out on the trails. They look killer though. I will email Stefan tonight and see if he would make this the way, and maybe out of a stronger material. Bent one compared to stock. And mocked up on the bumper. I have yet to figure out how I will hook them onto the bumper. I'll probably just run some of those small loop bolt things through. Not totally scale, but they'll work. |
