Default wheely king has bad radio and esc

Be warned......I tried to install a traxxas tq3 radio/receiver and use
existing esc.NO dice!...The steering worked but no power to wheels.
It must be a matched system and had i known this i probably would
have shelved out extra for a txt-1.I have a duratrax forward sport
esc but no reverse. That sucks but I guess it will sufice until i can get
a nice esc.Dang truck was fun in between the glitchy reverse.
The esc had a mind of its own.Not happy but i do realize that this still
is the cheapest option for a crawler basher truck on budget.

No such thing!!!!!

if the steering works and you have no throttle, then you have a problem with the esc.

I just put a TQ3 reciever in my WK from my E-Maxx and it has no problem controling the stock ESC, and 4 wheel steering. I really like using the TQ3 transmitter, it is sooo much better than the stock radio.

Found the problem and it isnt the radio but the receiver
for the radio.Im now running stock radio with traxxas receiver from
an e-maxx setup and i went ahead an istalled the duratrax
intellispeed forward only esc.Smooth as ever now:-)
I guess it will have to be a basher/light offroad until i can get
a good reversible esc.At least this way i know the diffs are safe

Glitchy reverse? What was it doing? Did you just have a screwed up trim setting? If the trim is set too close to moving the truck forward, it will use the delay for reverse each time you let the throttle return to neutral.

I dont know i guess it could have been part of it but
i dont think so because i adjusted the trim settings a lot.
Others have been complaining about bad receiver also
so mine as well.I ran the truck today and its such a joy
now and i really like no reverse because when i brake now
its ALL brake and the truck does a neat roll dip on 1 corner,
just like a real monster truck.....sweeet!!!!
It also fun to see how far i can go with it before i have to pick it
up.No reverse wouldnt work on a full blown locked crawler but this truck is far
away from being a comp crawler.Im also flat busted right now and i want
to simply run an rc.Later if i have 2 then i can build a crawler from it.
