Default CORR Pro 2

i got my new era body, time for a new teflon type racer.

i've got a question on battery pack placement. since this body is bigger/longer, i can put the battery pack lower on the chassis than on the other truck. my question is, where? in the center, near the tranny (prolly in front of?) or at the rear, behind the axle (sorta like a fuel cell?). any opinions on handling/weight distribution?

i should have some build pics soon, i'm anxious to start this thing!

On my Alumatruggy i moved the battery in several places and the best spot for mine was down low in the chassis in front of the tranny and motor. Any place else and the thing just rode wheelies all over the place and even with it up front handling was decent. If this truck turns out anything like your last it should be raelly nice.

the tt has the battery over the rear wheels, and it'll wheelie from a stop every time on pavement, and flops over when turning. looks like in front of the tranny is the spot...i'd like to make it 4wd, but i havn't found a front end i can use, and keep the track width/travel where i like it. still looking a bit, but it looks like 2wd is the plan.

thanks for the compliments!

what's the deal with the junfac beadlocks? i like how they look, and even better, what they cost, but i read somewhere on here that they're no good?

and here's where it's at as of today...mock up stuff...

i kinda like both of these, but i know nothing about them...

rc4wd's are definitely cool, but i can't talk myself into spending that much on them.

axial's don't look too bad either.

I like that body . I have not heard much on those beadlocks try em out and let us know. I dont mean to copy but I might have to pick up one of those bodies theres not very many good choices out there for trucks like these.

those beadlocks are "good for the price" from everything I've read. What rear axel is that? TLT? I'm really wanting to build a CORR truck as well, but the tires have to fit in the fenders... to keep it scale and all...

wawa- the rear is a tlt axle, with the wider super blackfoot axle shafts. the geos tuck just under the fender. w/o the wider rear shafts, the top of the bedside will rest on the the tire...all the way tucked, i guess. looked a little too narrow for my taste.

sniper- i got the body from the other CORR truck post. we both owe him. . no decals, window masks or anything, so it's a do-it-your-selfer. i have no idea on paint for it yet, but the body lines look like welchel's Monster pro-2. i may cut out the fastback area, i think it'll look better...

stay tuned...tomorrow is chassis day! they had speckled black cutting board at target tonight, it's gonna look dirty!!!

looks like the junfacs are regular width, maybe 2 mm narrower than a normal 2.2 wheel. might be a bit tricky to narrow. yuck.

axials come pre narrowed...points awarded to axial...still looking though...

got some work done today...

chassis bottomed out

chassis drooped out. about 2 inches of travel front and rear

i think it's gonna need longer rear shocks (currently rc10 t3 rears). not crazy about the angle on 'em to get the travel needed.

it tucks the fronts perfectly with a little negative camber added...

Looks good . I thought those rims /tires might be big at fist but there perfect. I like the way the tires fit up inside the fenders.

I dont know how long a rear shock you need but Wk's are 5ish maxx are 4ish and savvys are like 6ish lol. I think those tires look so cool on there. I would just have someone make some rock rings and use those rims. By the way are those ps3 controllers?

i'm either looking at wk shocks or warhead shocks, i think. both are around 5 inches long. if anyone has a pair to spare, lemme know.

i kinda like the hpi wheels too. not sure yet.

and yep, those are ps3 controllers ;)

I'd keep the HPI wheels they are looking good. Beadlocks are not really for high speed.

Truth be told... the beadlocks we use on our trucks are of such low quality of materials and workmanship compared to those. Our beadlocks would probably NEVER have a prayer of being properly balanced. The ones professional drag racers use are made to such tight tolerances for safety and performance reasons and are much easier to keep in balance for high speed use.

I was thinking the same. Plus they're heavier, so with all that bouncing around, it's putting more stress on the stub axles and steering. Maybe some MSD beadlock rings on those wheels if you really want the beadlock look.

Looks good so far. I was a big fan of the first one.
