Default Hobbytown - Columbia, SC

Hey guys I got a phone call from Mike at Hobbytown USA in Columbia. It's located on Two Notch Rd. North of town. He knows I'm into the crawlers and wanted to let me know so I could pass the word around that he is going to be building a crawler course and setting it up on Sunday afternoons at the same time that they hold their usual races in the parking lot. From what I understand they are using foam and some sort of Line-X type material for the construction. I told him about the zoo and said that he needed to come out there to get a better idea of what he needed to build before spending too much time, money, and energy on it. He said he bought a crawler, Hal that works there did, and he sold another one just recently. I'm assuming they got Axial rigs considering that's what they sell there. I'm hoping they'll get hooked and end up selling parts there...might save us some shipping...and it's always good to support local business when you can.

That's good news! He told me a few weeks ago they'll be opening a store off Harbison in the strip where Wild Wiings is.

OK went by there and found some Losi Blue bashers for my MRC. I talk to him and the young guy both and he said what they had so far was a mess like you said. He hasnt found Foam to make it how he wants but he said if we found some big sheets of foam(i guess styrofoam would work) to let him know. He is going to make it all out of that and then Rinoline it. Sounds like it would be cool and mobile but rinoliner might be kinda slick if its not got alot of the filler in it for the texture. I plugged for them to try to start carrying crawler stuff. Hopefully they can get this thing built soon.

And yes i told him he needed to get on the site and look at what everyone else has made at there places and backyards for ideas.

I thought about stopping there today. I had my MRC but i just got into this and my setup is not near where it needs to be. I need to try and get out there but i leave next month till jan. For sure when i get back though. The wife is kinda liking this thing and the daughter loves Cars(jeeps will be the focus soon i hope) so im sure they would come up with me.

Hey, no worries about not having many mods yet, its all good! If you can make it before you head back out, awesome, if not we will see you when you get back in January.

And Cole, Thanks for doing what you do.

Hey Guys, I finally got on Crawler.com. Yes it is true we do have our course setup here at the Two Notch store although we will probably be bouncing it back and forth a bit between the stores. However, we will have it set up here at the Two Notch location EVERY sunday for you guys to use. Also, we will now be carrying Axial, Wheelie King and Losi crawler parts at both locations. The Two Notch store should get the first Axial parts next week. The course is 20 feet long and the height is adjusted with a remote control which will then change the incline on the course. This allows us to vary the difficulty based on driver ability. I cant figure out how to attach pics to this bulletin but if you would like me to forward you a pic, drop me an email htucolumbia@bellsouth.net

If you have any questions or parts requests, give us a call at the store 803-736-0959

Thanks!
Mike
