I don't know how far you are willing to drive but we try to make trips to the Zoo when we can. You have any areas to crawl down there?

We do both. Here lately we've been trail running but I know my crawler will be seeing some action as soon as my new tires and motor arrive. Oh yeah, it's the zoo in Columbia. |

What about the zoo here in greenville? It's got a nice river that isn't too deep with rocks and stuff. And other places filled with rocks. |

im runing a stock rs10. cut the body to allow clearnce for the tires and removed the foam from the tires so the mold better to the rocks. need to figure out how to weigh the front end down. start up rock it wants to flip backwards. give me a bit and i will post some pictures of it. to be a cheap crawler it has some crazy articulation.

You dont want too much articulation. 40-50 degrees is a good range to fall into. Anything more than that doesnt do much but help it bind up. You can put weights in the wheels to get more weight up front. What battery type are you running? A good 6-8 cell saddle pack on the front axle will give you even more weight up front. I would also put the foams back in to give you some stability, just cut them in a star pattern. That will help the tire conform to the rocks. An alternative to doing this would be getting some new tires with memory foams. |
