Default Sportsman or Mini that is the question...

I'm trying to decide which way to go next. I don't want to go scaler simply because I know I'll lose interest too quick. I really like the novelty of the mini's, but none of us have them yet. I know some of the Charleston guys do though. Most comps have 1.9 courses, but a lot of them have sportsman now.

So which way would you be more likely to go? Are any of you interested in one or the other already or maybe even have one already?

Id say mini. I kinda wanna build one too. Well, once (if) I ever finish the 2.2.
Seems to me it would be a better choice since 1.9 is one of the big 3 in the chase for an overall at the major comps. Plus a minijuice would be kinda cool next to the 2.2

1.9 rigs compete at nationals.. sportman does not.. i will do one sooner or later... on the other hand sportman is a good class to get new people into crawling with out all the money it takes to do a pro rig

I plan to make my current rig a sportsman rig so that's what I voted.

A 1.9 just doesn't grab my attention I guess. If I were to build one it would be a little tuber.

I like them all, mini, sportsman, 2.2 pro, scalers, micro, Jeffro, Jeffrine , blondes, brunnetts, red heads, ... oops mind kinda wandered...if you just want to compete, I would say 1.9 mrc... it is just a scaled down sportsman anyway but, to get one to work well is more of a challenge as a builder and driver. Also it is, being like sportsman, more of a challenge, in my opinion. As I said before though, I like both 1.9 and sportsman, the choice will be all up to you.(I didn't help you a bit did I, but it was fun )

See I forgot you had one...I'll probably pick one up soon enough. If I hadnt spent all of my play money for this month there were a couple MRC's in the for sale section for around $100. They were bone stock, but I think it would be more fun to start from the ground up and be able to see what the improvements do for it. I'd still really like to start with a Pro though...hmmm.

Voted for the mini as I have one. When I first went to get into crawling sportsman was not around (I don't think or not well known) so it was either mini or money rig (wasn't sure how much I would enjoy it). The big plus I feel on the mini rig is they are small enough to run around the house. Lots of fun on couches, dogs, small babies, and old ladies lol. I built a small foam course out of cardboard and big gap foam filler holds me over when its raining or during the week when I can't get out. With some mods they are also very capable out on the real rocks as well.
