SCRCC Crawling Locations Map

Here's what happens when I get bored. I love Google Maps...so if you know of a place that's not on here yet, even if it's a local spot you visit just to get out of the house let me know and I'll throw it on here. You never know when someone in your area might join in and want to know where they can go to mess around. Read the descriptions regarding parking and terrain type.

Posting the GPS coordinates will help the most in finding your locations...

Oconee State Park and Chau Ram Park, both good for Scalers. The Dam location is good in Clemson at the Ymca.

The spot where we go with our scalers isn't on the map yet. It is in the undeveloped part of Foxcroft in Sumter.

ittybitty 03-06-2011 05:49 PM

Shoot me the coordinates and I'll throw it on there. We need to get together and check it out now that I have my scaler!

93-306 03-06-2011 05:55 PM

I don't have the exact coordinates but if you go into Foxcroft and take a left at the end of the entrance and go too the far left it is the big long dirt mounds. We have had a prettygood time out there and it changes every time it rains. Well have too get up and try it out and see what you think.

ittybitty 03-06-2011 06:16 PM

Gotcha...got it added to the map.

What about Hartwell Dam. We use to trout fish on the lower rock when dam was shut off. I bet it would be a great place to scale!
But, when the whistle blows, you leave

this is small spot near my house. we used to drive the trucks to the top back in high school. now its a park with a gravel road to the top. i have been testing the scaler here lately and got a few trails mapped out. there is alot large rocks in the woods but too spread out to worry about carrying the comp rig up the hill.

ittybitty 03-07-2011 03:25 PM

Added...is there a name for the park?

This is a spot in Belton SC i used to carry my wrangler to. It is called Holiday Dam. lots of rock, but it depends on how much rain we have had. lots of parking cause your out in the middle of nowhere.

Yeah, there is a 10 minute warning horn, and then they let the water out, and it gets rough and deep.
