4g should be faster than your standard wireless b/g. So with speeds of up to 1gb/sec would be awesome. Im just happy att finally got 3g working in gaffney and half the time in kings mountian. I think att and sprint are the only ones that have actual 4g right now. Verizon has 4g lte but i don't think it meets the actual 4g standards although it is faster than 3g. |

No carrier in North America met actual ITU "4G" speed standards a year ago. The ITU definition was then changed to include the next gen of wireless technology. Verizon actually also has the fastest of the next gen "4G" networks now. Blowing AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint/Clearwire's Wimax network out of the water. Verizon is king when it comes to wireless communications now, thats why they know they can charge out the yang for it and people will still pay for it. Myself included. Here is some light reading. . . http://www.bgr.com/2011/04/01/verizo...0-speed-tests/ http://www.bgr.com/2011/03/15/does-4g-really-matter/ Nate (Ryan aka Itty, is using an HTC Thunderbolt.) Yea at&t is crap on their network speeds. The only reason im still with them is because of sim cards. So i can buy a phone anytime and swap back and forth between them. But other than that their not hitting on anything.

Yeah Nates right I'm running a thunderbolt with Verizon wireless. Columbia just cranked up their 4g service within the last few days.

| I can't stand apple software. It's nowhere near as user friendly and you can't do what you want to do most of the time. iTunes has you locked down, they don't support such and such a file type...I could go on and on. The perfect example is the iPad...WHY DOESNT HAVE A USB PORT? That has to be the most basic accessory for electronics now, but they just saw it as another way to screw the user. For giggles they took away FLASH support. Who cares if FLASH drains battery life or might be an older form of software...ITS EVERYWHERE!!!!! |

Not to mention the android market has tons of free apps. Apple stuff is a little more refined, but you have to pay for EVERYTHING. I don't have a single app on my phone that I paid for.

Yeah from what I understand there's a bunch of hype...even above and beyond the normal amount...attached to the 4G networks. I will say that I stand by my first review...ITS FASTER! It does, however, drain battery life considerably faster both because its running the 4G processor and because you're most likely using the web more just to see how fast it moves.

The problem with going in and out of 4G is that it screws up the sync with all your apps. It signs me out of the TALK app and AIM app. I have to tell it to sync my email again...PITA What's the update gonna fix to help with the battery life? |

New coding for the 3g/4g handoff to be smoother and less taxing on the chipset. Also rumored to have a "4g off" settings option to keep from happening in the first place. Next time you are in LTE Territory will you run speedtest mobile? You can download it from the market. I would like to see what kind of actual speeds you can achieve with and without 4g on your T-Bolt. |
