Cool Scale comp feeler....

Planning on getting a scale comp together in the next few weeks.

Would like everyone's imput on these areas:
1. Gate quantity
2. Location
3. Prizes
4. Time
5. Rules

These are just a few things I'm getting a feel for.

1. Thinking about 8-10 gates with a 15-20 min time limit
2. Columbia zoo? Trails in columbia?
3. First, second, third place prizes such as cash prizes? Items?
4. Thinking set up the course at 9am and start the comp by 930-10
5. The rules are in the scale rule section of the RCC forum. Let me know if you do not agree with any of the guidelines set in the forum. Here is the link.

Really looking for all of your opinions on this subject....except duxx's opinion....

For an organized event you better consider your location a bit more carefully than you would for a normal day in the woods

The reason the zoo would be a great location is there is such a large distance and variation of rock and trail.
Even if we had multiple comps it would never really be the same gates because of the large area.
And it seems to be a centralized location that most people can seem to attend.

Venom safari will be in the modified class but yes.
We are in the process of constructing a full out scale course in Aiken, sc.
But we will hold comps in various locations in Carolina.
We cannot post such a comp online unless we have permission from the land owner to do so.
But keep looking at the South Carolina forum for upcoming events to be held this summer!
Thanks guys!

Have you ever considered Hitchcock woods? There's plenty of areas to run through the creeks...and there's trails throughout the place.
