Scale drivers save this date!!!
 

So just yesterday myself and a few of the guys met up at the zoo here in Columbia for a little scale action. Well why we were out there we were throwing a few ideas around about a non sanctioned competition for fun. Nothing crazy just trying to get more people involved and from what I have seen and heard most of the comps around locally are more towards crawlers not scalers.

So with that said we are going to have a scale event Saturday April 27th, and the location is exit 33 off I-20, a time will be set once we get closer.


We will be using the rules listed by sorcca but with some minor twists. Being that this is a non sanctioned event and also strictly for fun and interactions with fellow scalers, this should not be an issue. There will be 3 classes and possibly a crawler class if we have some interest there, no one will be turned down, again this is for fun!


There will be prizes!!!! As of right now still tossing ideas around but first through third will be giving a prize. A few prizes that will be on that list include but are not limited too a Proline Jeep Rubicon body,3Racing winch, Proline accessory kit, Roof racks, and tires. These are already purchased and in hand for the event. More prizes to come depending on outcome.




So please anyone that is interested in attending the event or have some input please reply. Newbies welcome!!!! Again this is for fun and to unite all fellow scalers across the state. Lets have some fun....

Sounds interesting. Ive got a couple rigs that are nearly "comp" ready.

I think within the past 6 months to a year we have seen the scale population really grow in this area. Should be fun, I'm going to do my best to have a rig or two ready by then.

Be mindful of having large get togethers or comps at the zoo location though. I know there are still entry points but, as Ryan (ittybitty) has stated in the past, they arent as keen on gatherings as they used to be. I guess they didnt stick those fences up just so we could take the scenic route.

Hey guys update date has been changed to April 27th due to some conflicting schedules the week before sorry for the inconvenience. Please post up any thoughts and also interest in this event. Thanks Bill I appreciate you checking into that. Please let me know what you find out.

Hope this works but this is an album on my profile that shows just a tiny bit of the terrain that is privately owned and an approved property for the event I and some of our other fellow crawlers will be hosting on April 27th.


Also I would like to start a sign up sheet please pm me or post that way I can get a good head count. Also we will be doing lunch on site during the event.

That place looks insane! Something for everybody too. Shaping up to be a nice event, wish I could make it. Definitely gonna have to make it up there on a weekend with you though.

I'll only be "competing" with the Wraith, as the SCX10 is torn down again for another rebuild. But, I may have a surprise I'm bringing to toy around with on the trails. ;-)

Oh good, Tony can't make it. The trails will be clear of debris from broken parts now.

Very nice Mike! Can't wait, tomorrow Bill and I are going to take a ride to the area to scout out some spots. I will post more pics tomorrow evening of the place. If anyone else is available and wants to go down let me know I could use some more eyes lol.

Hatefulboy it would be great to have you guys come down, we have a great group of scale guys down here and all diffferent areas including Moncks corner, Aiken, Sumter, northeast Columbia, and Lexington. Sure would be nice to meet and scale with you upstate guys. Keep us posted.
