SC Drivers - 2013 Battlegrounds
 

I thought I posted this yesterday...evidently not. In any case I've got a few questions and such so rather than text, PM, or call everyone individually I thought this would be easier for everyone to give input in one place.

The plan was to have 4-5 of us to go to the event in order to split the costs up a little. So far I've had interest from these people:

The plan is to leave EARLY on Friday (May 31) and arrive in OH around 4pm. They will be having open practice that day from 2pm til dark. That should give us some time on the rocks before going to dinner and settling in at the hotel. This means I will be leaving Sumter between 3 - 4am and would be meeting the guys from the upstate in Spartanburg between 5:30 - 6:30. Coming back home is discussed below...

First...I was planning on taking my wife's Explorer which will seat up to 7 people and towing my 4x8 utility trailer and using totes to store all of our stuff in for the trip. If anyone has a small enclosed trailer that might be another option. Does this sound good to ya'll or do you have any other ideas?

Second...The hotel rooms don't really lend themselves to having 4-5 guys stay together so I guess we'll be getting 2 rooms. If some of you are ok with sleeping on the floor on air mattresses or whatever we can work that out and only get 1 room. If we get 2 rooms it would only add something like $50 to the total cost of the trip for each person. Which option sounds better?

Third...When do we come back? Sunday is 2.2S and Supers. I'm running both classes and I know at least 2-3 other SC drivers will be running 2.2S. The courses open at 9am and we "should be able to finish up by 12pm. We could leave then and be back in Spartanburg by 8pm. If not we could spend the whole day there and leave first thing on Monday. Which option sounds best?

well back on topic it don't matter to me when we come back or 1 room/2 room. I have a nice air mattress "thumbsup". So either way sounds good to me 8)

Thanks for the answers guys...BUT...can I get some definite answers on whos going...and sleeping arrangements. Right now I have Jason, Derrick, Bruce, and myself going. There's a possibility that Ray and/or Marcus might be able to go as well or someone else that I haven't heard from yet.

Assuming it's just the 4 of us (Jason, Derrick, Bruce, and myself) give me definite answers on these...

Is everyone ok with having a room with 2 beds to save money? We'll need volunteers for who wants to sleep on air mattresses...I claim 1 of the beds :flipoff:

Is everyone ok with leaving first thing Friday morning and coming back on Sunday night?


I need to go ahead and make a reservation at a hotel so we don't run out of options and lose some better deals "thumbsup"

I'm in, and I'll sleep where ever, leaving Friday and coming home Sunday night sounds good to me

If you do that I was thinking about going and I would be able to do that. Than go to work on Monday.

I have an air mattress for me in a 2 bed room. Also Friday morning back Sunday sounds good!

Ok it's starting to look like getting 2 rooms will be the better option. I'd rather not walk across people on my midnight trek to the little boys room :shock:

Alright...reservations made. We've got a room with 2 Queen Beds and 1 Full sofa bed. "thumbsup" Who wants the sofa bed? :twisted:

Ya'll might want to go ahead and purchase your tickets for the event also! There's a limited number of 2.2 driver packages which saves you quite a bit of money.

Just a heads up guys...ticket sales end on May 13 so be sure to buy yours soon!!!

I am paid for and my leave is in so I guess I am committed! WOOOOO!!!!!!! I can't wait till the 31st. My first large comp.
