| OLD RAPIDS DAM - SCALER'S EVENT (Jan.19th,2014)
Well guys, sorry for the delay unfortunately it has been a very busy month. I hope that everyone had a great Christmas and are looking forward to our next comp at the Lake Murray dam. Robert has already posted the date and the location above,So I won't repeat that here but if you have any questions please ask. Registration and truck checks will begin around 9:30-10am, and I expect events to be underway by no later than 10:30-11am. Estimating a 3-4pm finish (depending on weather). We will have all three classes to compete at this event, so bring your class 1 if you have one. There will be 2 events at this comp, this will be a teamed event. Rules and any questions will be answered at the drivers meeting. There will be two 20 gate courses that will challenge all classes. A few of us went out today and scouted out the area and seem to have a nice course layout that everyone should enjoy. We limited it to the two courses due to time limitation in the day however you will not be disappointed. We'll be using the SORRCA rules ( SORRCA.com ) for scale points, you will get bonus points toward your final score for having scale looks. As stated above classes will include Class 1,2,3 as explained individually by sorcca. Exact restrictions are still being finalized, but if you qualify for the SORRCA rules ( SORRCA.com ), you'll be fine. We're not being that strict though. Again this for fun. Basic restrictions: No modifications between rounds, only repairs. 4WD only. No 6X6, no tracks. No motor limit. No transmission limit. No rear steer. No dig. Must be shaft driven. Must look like a truck or other realistic vehicle. No XR-10 shells. Must have a rail chassis similar to SCX-10. No twin-plate crawlers. Tubers such as the Wraith are allowed. Winches recommended. It'll be way tougher without one. You'll also need tow ropes of some sort, to be carried on vehicle. ***THERE WILL BE ABSOLUTELY NO TOUCHING!!!*** Tire Ban List: Losi Claws (all sizes, and types) Hot Bodies Rovers (all sizes) Hot Bodies Sedonas HPI Rock Grabbers Panther Cougars Panther Leopards Pro-Line Chisels (all sizes) RC4WD Rocklin RC4WD X-Locks (all sizes) RC4WD Crazy Crawlers Imex Skulls and Bones Losi Bashers Sand paddles ( this one is for you BILL ) If you have a question about your rig and whether it'll be allowed to run, please PM me NOW so we can sort it out or clarify anything prior to you getting out there. Stuff to bring: Trucks, transmitter, batteries, charger, and spare parts! Bug spray Sunblock. Drinks (beer if you want). Cameras! Lawn chairs if you would like to sit on something. Now for the somewhat serious part. All entrants will need to sign a waiver. We don't expect anything to happen, but just in case... Also, should you cause problems for others, you may be asked to leave. We're trying to keep this fun, and we don't want anyone to ruin it for others. In short, don't be a dick or throw a temper tantrum, and we'll all be fine. This is a family event, and there will be kids there, so make sure yours are under control as well. This is a privately owned property everything we bring in goes with us when we leave. There will also be a admission fee ($5) that will include lunch. We may be doing something different then the standard lunch that you all have come to be used too I will update that, soon as well. This thread will be updated as more details are added/finalised. I may try to make this one. Dont have a clue what the work schedule looks like for then though. So mark me down for a maybe. Class 1 right now and if I can get my ass in gear I may bring a C2 and a C3. Sounds like fun! Also, I have a huge ass work van if we need to run shuttle for parking purposes or if anyone needs a ride. |

I would like to do something different waiting on a head count. Donations would be much appreciated as we have done at the recent comps. I myself am definitely looking forward to it. | |

Sign me up. Currently having some issues with the crawler but I will try hard to put something together before then. Im also trying to convince a few guys from the Raleigh area to make the trip. Might as well sign up Marlboroman too, I spoke to him he plans to attend as well. |
