Carolina Qualifier for the Southeast Shootout

This will be the qualifying event for the Southeast Shootout on December 3rd possibly at Stone Mountain.

Southeast states are assembling 10 man teams to compete against each of the other states for the trophy and bragging rights for 2017.

Basics for the Shootout

-Teams of 10 drivers per state
-SORCCA class 2 legal rigs only
-30 minimum scale points
-Combined state scores




Qualifier Details

-Main qualifier for the top 8 spots Sept 3rd
-Last Chance Qualifier for last 2 spots Nov 12th
-Both will be held at Dravo dam
-Address: 266 Spillway Rd Gaffney SC
-Start time will be 9am

This is the Qualifying event to attend the Southeast Shootout for NC and SC teams.

****Note****
The Southeast Shootout will be a travel event. If you are NOT willing to travel to that event there is no reason to qualify and take the spot of someone who is willing to travel.

- Rigs: SORCCA Class 2 (1.9) rigs only. Guidelines for that class can be found at www.sorcca.com so please look those over before you sign up.

- Rules: SORCCA course rules and penalties will be the guidelines for this event. This is NOT a trail ride, G6, or outlandish scale event. This is a driver's competition so it is NOT for everyone and I understand that.

- Scale points: -30 scale points are required to qualify for the event. (that is a middle of the road total and easily obtained) Scale points will NOT be deducted from your course scores. It's merely a tool to keep everyone's rig semi scale.

Courses: Minimum of 3 courses of 10 gates. There will be a 5 minute time limit and 40 penalty point cap on each course. If you can NOT finish the course in 5 minutes or without 40 penalty points, you will accrue 40 points minus your progression points. (progression points are awarded at the end of your run, not during)

This event will determine the top 8 of 10 drivers needed for the Southeast Shootout. The last 2 spots will be open at the Last Chance Qualifier on November 12th. The decision to reserve 2 spots for the LCQ is simple. We may have a driver that can't make the event on the date set, catastrophic rig failure on Qualifier day, or everyone has had a bad day on course. These last 2 spots will be awarded to the top 2 drivers at the LCQ so that everyone has a fair chance to attend the big show.

As more Intel is available, changes are made, issues arise for the event, ect. I will post here and on the Facebook event page.

I've been watching the weather very closely all day and still watching the bands of rain firming west of the storm and event location....

With that being said, courses will be open

Saturday 2pm-6pm
Sunday 9am-12pm

Broke it up the event to give everyone the opportunity to run the qualifying event....
