Hi, new guy here...I just bought the Trail King kit and the LC70 body. Will the interior fit without moving the battery? Also, I noticed that you uploaded a few things to thingiverse, do you plan to upload more? I'd really like to bob the bed and that jig would sure come in handy. If you're willing to sell the one you have I'd be willing to buy it....just to save time on my buddies printer. No worries if not of course, just thought I'd throw it out there. Such an awesome build, I won't be going nearly as far as you with the finer details but I can sure appreciate them! Very nice work! And thanks so much for sharing your knowledge and I really appreciate you sharing your files on thingiverse. |

Hi 503RC, welcome to RCC! Thanks for the compliments! I dont think the battery would fit in the stock location with this interior. I haven't test fitted it but I did just check the measurements and the battery would occupy space within the interior for sure. I might upload some more of the designs, I just like to make sure they're nice and polished before I let them loose. I think the jig to bob the bed is probably ready to go up, you'll need a Japanese hand saw/very thin hand saw (.5mm thick). I'll see if I can get this uploaded today.

Ok, thanks so much for checking for me. I figured it would probably interfere. Do you plan to upload your battery tray design eventually? I completely understand not wanting to upload a possibly poor design. I would feel the same way and I certainly understand if you don't wanna share all your secrets. 🙂 Thanks again, I appreciate your help!

Here's the jig to bob the LC70 bed (40mm) https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4303951 As for the battery tray its very specific to my battery (Protec RC 3600/4100 LIHV 3S) and I've had to cut it up and modify it to work. This one would need some more work before I could release it. Beyond that would your battery fit the dimensions? the inside dimensions of the tray is 48mm wide x 90mm long x 25mm tall |

Awesome, thank you! I don't have any shorty 3s batteries but I will get a couple if you decide to upload the tray.

Great job on the build so far! That is some awesome engine detailing! The spark plug wires and boots look amazing! I'm excited to see the rest of the build! |

HumboldtEF, do you see a way to fit a servo winch with the interior installed?

I havent tried but I bet you could fit it in somewhere. Maybe behind the interior or under it, maybe on the sliders or as the last resort behind the fuel cell. Thanks

Great build you are doing, enjoying re reading it again. I know you have said you have given up worrying about the weight, but I was interested in how much it weights now, with where you are in your build. |

I'm in the middle of painting so I'm gonna hold off on piling everything up on the scale until its had a chance to cure a bit more. I'm guessing its in the mid 8 lb range maybe. Here's a look at the color which is Tamiya TS-48 this color seems hard to photograph accurately, it looks way different in the other pic below more tan even though its not tan at all, its more on the blue/gray side. I had to go outside to get some natural light on it. I finally got some good painting weather yesterday, I'd been waiting for a nice sunny day with low humidity which is a bit rare on the coast where I'm at. I always forget how long a hard body takes with the priming and main color all the thin coats (if you doing it right). Anyway I started at about 1:30 and got the last coat on by 9:00 waiting about 15 minutes between coats. I still need to mask off the grill area to paint it black but that should only take an hour or so, of course it just had to rain today I also got the side exit exhaust finished along with a means to mount it. It still needs a sanding and some clean up, and I may paint its mount black so theres a look of separation. Last edited by HumboldtEF; 05-02-2020 at 02:10 PM.

There ended up being a few areas that looked rough and had sanding marks showing through where I was most aggressive so I decided to block sand a bit with some 600 grit while I still have a little paint left. Hopefully I cleaned it up enough, I'm down to 1 can. I sanded and cleaned up the exhaust and gave it some grime. I sprayed some black at a distance and for some spatter I held the can aimed upwards so it rained down on it. Then I sanded it back to dull it and blend it in a bit. I masked off and painted the mount black. Last edited by HumboldtEF; 05-03-2020 at 07:00 PM. |

That looks so cool! Weathering and oil spatter on the header is perfect. |

Great job on the exhaust! I like how you painted the mount black to hide the mounting! Oh and Happy Birthday! Hope it's a good one! |

Thanks guys! I did some weathering, a dark red and a white wash. Took some poser shots At the last minute I decided to paint the grill Black, I thought the chrome would have stood out a ton. I decided to roll one window down a little (though I did not use the functional windows), its cut down. I need to work up a firewall and a few underhood details and then lights. So far it weighs in at 7 lb & 13 oz without a battery, the body is 2 lb & 2.7 oz Last edited by HumboldtEF; 05-05-2020 at 12:34 PM.

That looks good! Chrome grill definitely would've been out of place. Need to murder out the headlights now |

The LC is looking really good! I was looking at those flares last evening but really don’t want to wait a month to get them. Where did you get yours from? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I ordered them directly from Model Loops, it took 2-3 weeks I think. that was before Covid 19 hit though. I've got 2 sets of the KillerBody flares made for the TRX4 (or anything wider than a MST/Tamiya), I think Redcat racing carries some of their stuff. Though the size of the screws that hold those on are microscopic and I feel like they'd get ripped off in no time which is why I got 2 sets.
