Warped? No, not at all. They do flex in a bit as do most plastic shock towers when sitting under the trucks weight w/o a body. Fronts especially with the weight of the motor. The body acts as a brace of sorts when it's mounted. Not particularly worried about mine.

Mine were 'warped' when installing them, so chassis wasn't really supporting any weight yet. I didn't install the motor/transmission until after almost everything else was done (due to motor not having arrived yet). They're curved in enough that it caused a problem installing the engine...in order to seat the engine on top of the motor, I had to, literally, "bend" the front shock towers outward. I'll have the aluminum shock towers ordered (along with the front brass weights) before close of business today.

Slowly getting there...Sucks to finish a winter build before winter even starts. Body got some paint...

Started bolting on some of the plastic bits...

And almost ready to go! Still messing with the front bumper, but the body details are done.

Test drove in the basement and noticed I'm not getting full lock on the steering in one direction...have to check it out. Still have to decide on the front bumper, and debating an interior and lights. Otherwise, it's basically ready for a test drive!

Great job on the body! Nice detailing!

The more I see these, the more I think I need to get one! It's a really good looking body!

That VS4-10 bumper on the rear looks like it was made for this application.

I really like this body too, have been hoping to see more of them done and yours confirms that it’s a good one. Great work on the detailing.

I like the first bumper more out of the two you have posted.

Very smart and thoughtful. I’m waiting on a couple things I got shorted in my Capra kit.

After a long trail run with my TRX4 we stopped at the parking lot, swapped rigs and went back out to play for a bit. Finally got the Trail King out for a test run. Jato ran his Capra...a nice, pre-mud and scratch shot.

I was very hesitant to put that first scratch on the body, so I started out nice and easy. Then after the first roll over or two, it was on.. It started a bit loud as all those metal gears wore in, and quieted down noticeably after about 30 minutes.

The truck is very smooth and capable. Reedy 5-slot/1080 combo was like butter....really liking these new 5 slot motor options. COG is a bit higher than I was expecting, but all in all it's a very solid performer. Initially I started with no preload on the shocks, then I bumped it up slightly. I'm thinking it needs slightly stiffer rear springs as it tended to lift the front wheels sometimes on climbs.

I "heart" this truck... *sigh* One of my favorite rocks was tagged with a giant spray painted heart. Really?? A-holes.

I was trying to get an action pic, though I was shooting right into the sun. This is the only one that came out ok. Found this killer rock and had a ball using wheelspeed to rip the dry moss off, dig in and rocket to the top. I've had these tires forever and they still grip like crazy.

Didn't get any more pics, was have too much fun! All in all - very happy! Well done SSD! Thinking lights and a simple interior for scale details, and some rear shock work. Other than that, no plans to change a thing. Well, maybe tough up some of those scratches.

Cool looking truck. I really like the body on this. What size Pitbull tires do you have on there, are they the 4.45" or 4.75"?

Glad you got it out for a run, looking great on the rocks.

How’d the mirrors and snorkel hold up on that body when running? Wondering if they’re sturdy like the trx4 sport or fragile like the axial pieces.

So far, so good though the mirrors wanted to rotate somewhat easily, I'll add another O-ring in there.
