All those trucks are awesome. I dare say you may be a Toyota fan, as am I.

Your bobbed bed came out too clean
I can't tell where you cut it.

It's pretty considerate of you to cover the kitchen table before tinkering on toy truck. I hope your significant other appreciated what you did there.

Yeas sir I love the Toyota. Thank you on the bed. I’ve done a few Hilux beds and I must say that the LC bed is more of a challenge. I use the kitchen table when I assemble new stuff. Not saying the garage isn’t suitable but the table is more comfortable and sanitary. Yes the wife would run me out of town if I left one tiny mark on the furniture. It’s more for my own safety than consideration.

Back to the LC.....

I got a good jump on that front bumper today. I still need to add a few more pieces before it’s done but it turned out tight and straight.

Pain in the rump building the sliders to fit the factory floorboards but I wanted to keep that smooth SSD bottom piece.

More to come.

Default Bananaclip’s King of the Trail LC70

Put a little time in today on the TK. I have to say I am happy with the outcome of the sliders. I wanted to maintain the SSD floorboards and smooth bottom cover and it all worked out great. I was worried about rigidity but I am no longer concerned after sandwiching the 3 parts together. I only have the 4 outer bolts installed as well. The others will go in after the metal is painted.

I also got the rear bumper started

Thank you. I put in a little time today. I redid the front bumper frame mount. The original version was done before I did the sliders. I used a wider material to fill the gap. I think it looks much better.

Nothing earth shattering but progress nonetheless. I installed 3 new VP titanium links on the front of the LC70 to better adjust the wheelbase. This naturally improved my approach angle and improved the overall look.

That bumper looks great!

What do you plan to use for the over fenders?

I also adjusted my wheelbase a tiny bit except in the rear.

Thank you my brother. I am uncertain at this point. I just opened up the possibility of using the factory flares. I was planning on using the flares as a stencil to trace around and use as a guide for a light trim. I also might fill the holes with styrene and mek...... I don’t know but it’s coming up. Yes I think the stretch helped the suspension alignment on the chassis as well. I landed at 12 3/4.

Thank you DPD! Building this little yota for my pal Duke Minnix. He liked the TK’s wheel and tire combo so well he bought the same thing down to the CI foams.

Fantastic builds and that lc70 is well on it's way to becoming a real head-turner too.

Thank you Duke and HPD. I wanted to keep the ride height low and wanted to keep the fenders for tire coverage. I ended up bolting the front fenders on and sanding and shaping. In order to clear the tires I ended up trimming up to the factory hardware. Then I mixed up some slurry with MEK and some plastic from the parts trees. I filled the entire inner fender with the slurry, let it dry and removed the hardware. I then sanded and shaped a tad more. I gave the entire body a good sanding and shot it with some Rustoleum thunder cloud grey. Then did the inner box and underside in flat black. I temporarily mounted the electronics and did some testing. I have a runner that was very impressive on its first test run.

I still have to sort out some inner fenders, build an interior of some sorts, paint the armor, and do some minor detail work. Pretty excited about the little trail king.
