Default SSD TK upper links

First I love my TK and SSD support is second to none.

The only issue I have had is with the upper rear links. I eat the rod ends on every crawl. Rips the ball right through the plastic. This is my scaler and literally crawls. Have a Hobbywing 1800kv AXE and it torques through the ends like nothing. Any alternatives made of harder plastic the same size as the short 3mm ends?

The rod ends from the old TMaxx are very close to the same size (part # 2742), don't know if they are any stronger though.

Any rear upper links that fit the SCXII should work on the rear of the Trail King so you could replace the links with something that uses stronger M4 rod ends.

Can you post a pic of your link set up? I haven’t heard of this issue before, certainly not at that frequency so it makes me wonder if something else is going on. I use the ssd links on my 10.2 (same link set as TK) and it’s one of my more high mileage rigs and the links are overall are in great shape without slop at the balls. My TK has seen considerably less trail time but also does it have this issue.

Here is my link set-up. Had rod ends on both ends fail on the uppers. That said we have some extreme rocks and link stressing crevaces in UT comps. White Rock tested it for sure. Other rigs have 4mm links all around

Nothing looks off to me with your links, strange that keeps happening and wish I could have been of some help.

Good looking truck though

Thanks for looking! Like your builds as well. We will see how it goes. Rod ends are cheap.

I hammer on my SSD Trail king and only a couple rod ends have some play after 15+hours of hard use, granted I'm running a 35 turn on 3s, which is a far cry from your power level. You might need to upsize to 4mm rod ends with matching links for a long term solution.
