Default SSD Support Attention: Different Transmission Use

This is not an issue question. No problems with anything.

I want ot do a build using the SSD Transmission, but without the Transfer Case as this will be for a 2WD Build.

My question is 2 fold. One, is there a shorter shaft for the tranny I can use as a main tranny output shaft, opposed to the one the runs through the Transfer case available? Or would I need to cut down the shaft to size?

2nd part is do you have any optional gearing to make the tranny more of a closer gear ratios? Or is there a way to use different tranny gears to get a lower gear ratio?

I would like to get as little gear reduction as possible as this build will be a speed build.

Any info/help/guidence you can offer would be great.

I'm not aware of any other trans output shafts for the ssd scale trans. If you have a drill press and v-block it's not terribly hard to make another hole for your rear driveshaft through pin.

Another thing to keep in mind is that you will loose two mounting bolts by deleting the transfer case. The other two mounts are on the aluminum motor plate, which may be enough for light scale use.

Ya, I haven't found any options. Would be making a cross member to mount the rear of the tranny case to.
Even if there were some gearing options to make the ratio closer.

Anyone have the gear ratio on these Trannys?

I dont think there are any alternate shafts for these. I agree with meatmonkey Modify the shaft and maybe 3D print a new rear housing with mounts.

You don't need a thru-pin and a hole in the output shaft. Find a grub screw that fits the thru-pin hole on the axle, cut the output shaft to a suitable length, and grind a flat spot onto the output shaft for the grub screw to bite against.

Thanks. That will come in handy.

I hope they (SSD) have something in the works for gearing options for their tranny setups.
