20% OD Tcase

Just arrived from my local SSD dealer, haven't seen any mention of it anywhere except on SSD's site:

Re: 20% OD Tcase

Interesting as I just got to the TC part of my build but not sure if it adds anything though..

I mean if it was selectable OD ratio than I understand but if it's only adding OD at the TC then it seems to me it is just adding more stress to the drive shaft and diff. Just feels like less ideal than OD or UD at the diff/axle which they already had.

Good point. I think they probably went this route as I heard there was a size constraint in the AR44 pumpkin for how big you could make the ring gear.

Ah I see, well that makes sense I suppose. Either way, it would be cool to have a CNC TC though!

Now that's interesting! Might be a good thing to keep in mind for a future TK build!

Any updates?

Re: 20% OD Tcase

Had it out a couple of weekends ago but it was at a different location that is more of a trail truck park so I couldn't really compare it with the other location I usually go to that was more rocks. It definitely didn't hurt performance.

Re: 20% OD Tcase

I just had mine arrive a few days ago. I'm finishing up a TRX4 build soon and then I'll be installing the TK O.D. The Trail King works so good it's hard too imagine the O.D. improving it more. But O.D. works well on so many other rides....so I'm excited to try it out.

Any updates on the OD Trase? I just got the kit together and was curious about this.
Ordered one from my LHS will take about two weeks to arrive.

Re: 20% OD Tcase

So far my experience has been that I have no complaints, because of how much of a pain it is to swap back and forth it's hard to tell how much of a difference it makes. I was already impressed with the performance of the Trail King so I wouldn't say adding the OD Tcase is absolutely necessary but I'm glad I didn't go with less than 20% by swapping bevel gears. I try to avoid running it on high-grip surfaces such as asphalt though. The local club sometimes go for downtown crawls so I'd probably take a different rig unless I eventually get the SSD locking hubs ($$ though).
