| Floating Bearing? The bearing on the shaft residing inside the housing doesn't have a recessed pocket into which it would be fitted. There's a tiny lip that corresponds to the OD of the bearing, that's all. So it's kind of a 'floater,' free to spin. Has this caused problems for anyone? |

A little more information would be helpful like what truck you're working on.

We're in the SSD TK section so I thought it would be clear - sorry, it's a SSD TK.

I havent had any issues with it and I doubt anyone has since these axles (pro44's) have been out for a number of years and have been used a fair amount.

Well that's good to hear. It's a goofy design to have that unsupported bearing in there, which was surprising as so far the parts and such have been top notch. I guess I'll just not worry about then.

Are you sure you are trying to fit the correct bearing. the inner bearing is a bit larger than the outer bearing.

My inner bearings on the 6 SSD Axles I've built have had to be pushed into the race.

Oh sh*t! My bad! The drawing actually states that clearly (now that I look at it!!!) but I know I put the same inside and out. So, nevermind this post! Thanks for pointing that out! |

Been there... I remember having an xtra bearing when I finished the transmission. *Sigh* - tore it all back down and found I totally missed an easy one.
