Thanks man! Good pics! It was a good comp today....

I still need to practice quite a bit with the sticks. Gotta pull apart the front axle to see what broke....my guess is that main gear.

4xFord 02-27-2010 06:18 PM

Ya we need carnage pics!

LSXEric 02-27-2010 08:42 PM

Damn I shouldn't have left! Oh well I had some issues anyways. Darn knuckle broke.

Looking great Jeremy!

Well, I've been playing with the steering setup and I need some opinions on which one you guys think will be stronger.

The current setup:

The new setup:

I am not sure if having the servo horn at the top will expose it to breakage, but I also wasn't comfortable with the bottom of the servo case sticking up in the first version....

What do you guys think?

4xFord 03-07-2010 09:17 PM

I vote new, lower cg and protect the servo itself. "thumbsup"

70duncan 03-07-2010 10:09 PM

I like the new set up. It protects the servo better "thumbsup"

Sounds good! I'll change the front steering setup around this evening.

Thanks for the input!

Duuuuuuuude 03-08-2010 07:19 AM

Dammit I just can't get over how sexy those wheels are!

JeremyH 03-08-2010 07:37 AM

Haha.....thanks man! Yeah, I really like the wheels as well! There is so much adjustability with them to get the correct offset....

TURBOFEST 03-08-2010 11:10 AM

gotta watch those 3mm screws with that much stand off coming off your knuckles...those things will bend real quick!

Other than that...looks great.

I gotta get busy and start hammering out some steering kits.

JeremyH 03-08-2010 12:21 PM

Yeah.....that was my only concern with this setup. I do have some 4mm of the same lenght. If these bolts show some weakness, then I'll just tap the knuckle to accept 4mm....

Also, currently my tie rod is sleeved aluminum....at this length, it is weak as hell....I can bend it with my hand. I should have some stainless tubing in this week to build some real links....

70duncan 03-09-2010 10:29 AM

Do you know how much those wheels weigh with out the tire on them?

JeremyH 03-09-2010 11:52 AM

Nope, sorry. The next time I pull the tire I'll try to remember to weigh them. You want a weight with all of the rings and hardware, correct?

70duncan 03-09-2010 12:37 PM

Yes, Please. It would be nice to know. That way I can deside weather or not to get a set.

JeremyH 03-09-2010 12:48 PM

I'll try to remember. Is BWD planning to do another run of these?

JeremyH 03-15-2010 08:46 PM

Well, after noticing a bit of flex in the lower links, I stepped them up a notch:

I mounted the canti link mount a bit higher on the link to raise the GC a bit. I'll get the other two mounted up soon.

Thanks to Josh (Landon4) for cutting these for me!

CCC22 03-18-2010 07:30 PM

cool man.. that thing looks crazy!

JeremyH 03-18-2010 07:42 PM

Thanks! I've got the other links finished and cant wait to get this thing back out on the rocks!
