Got to work on this a bit today. So far I have got the uppers and the main steering links done. They are 4mm SS threaded rod sleeved in 8mm SS tube. I don't think I will have any trouble with them breaking I'm edging ever closer now and I can't wait to drive it seeing the amount of steering! I have got it sitting around a 16"-16 1/4" wheelbase depending on how much I end up clocking the gearboxes.

That is coming along quite nicely! What shocks will you be running? Are you planning to mount them to the lower links or the axles??

Thank you I plan on running HPI firestorm front shocks in alloy. They will have to be link mount for 2 reasons. 1. They are only about 3.5" and 2. To clear the tires. I've come up with an idea to mount the servo and make link mounts all in one. Hopefully too it will make the lower links slightly less 'L' shaped.

Got started on one of the servo/link mounts today. 3mm steel. Welded in place where necessary.

Hi Kieren,
your links are from full metal or pipe with thread rod.
Your lower links look very juicy.

Hi Sascha

I choose to go with 4mm threaded rod and 8mm stainless tube on these ones, much neater than my welded solid ones I have previously been making for other projects. Thank you!

One I got from MKS a while back and the other I got from hobbyking, both for $65. Most likely someone is reselling them on ebay though.

Yes I have to to clear the wheels. How ever the drag link will go on top using a thread ball (no room for a nut). I still has plenty of clearance being underneath, I can take a picture from the top looking down if you want?
