Been a while since I did an update. I got around to fitting up my SVEN knuckle weights today. There was no way they were going to fit out of the packet, which is no fault of SVEN's, more the fact they were designed for different wheels, and linkage placement. Anyway with a bit of sanding and filing I got the O.D down enough to fit in the wheels and the rod end's to clear. Plus I drilled and tapped a hole for a grub screw to hold the actual thing onto the top of the knuckle. For a bit of extra security I drilled a little dimple into the top of the knuckle so the grub screw has a bit more purchase. Kieren |

I'll admit it hasn't been ran that much but I've been very busy in the last little while. Considering all the runs it's had have been at the beach rust is what you expect Face it I build stuff for my cars then I actually drive them! Kieren |

Well about time for an update I think. Got the old man to give me a hand to lathe up some slugs for the SVEN holders, as the lathe is still new to me. I went with 3 20mm slugs and 3 25mm slugs each side, depending on clearance. The whole lot adds 445grams which gives me plenty of room to 'tune' weights. Next on the agenda for this rig is shock tuning. I think I need to limit them a bit and work out my spring weights a little to get a bit more flex and a little less flop. Kieren |

Thanks How do I like them? Well I enjoy the control of dual ESC and rear steer, allows a lot of things otherwise not available on the smaller rigs. Kieren |

Well I got my Y-Harness' modified for so that no voltage goes to the receiver and no signal comes from the bec. Snip the heatshrink, cut 3 wires, a little hot glue and some new heatshrink all done. Works well as you can unplug the Y harness and all your original servo/bec/receiver leads are all unmodified. Kieren |

Been a while since I update this, or for that matter drove it. So time for a rebuild I've got a few things in mind, but I'm not sure what will end up happening just yet. Kieren |

For me if it doesn't move for a couple months it immediately requires a rebuild I had found though a few things I didn't like that I'm working on now. One was the shock mounting and the other the servo/link mounts. So both of those are getting replaced with a two piece machined aluminum bracket. The stance will also be getting a few changes when I redo the shocks. The final thing will be Ti links, but I'll need to get some more, and also I'm not sure how 3/16" will hold up. I might just do the uppers with it, and get some 1/4" for the lowers. Cheers Kieren |

After all the fun I've had building my 2.2 berg, and it nearing completion I think it has come the time to strip down this rig and build it back up properly. The gearbox are going under the knife, the tubes will be shaved, the link/shock mounts will be finished, Ti links added, perhaps a new chassis, electronics done properly. There has even been a few ideas for the wheels! The end result will hopefully be a good bit lighter, not so unpredictable in the suspension movement and a joy to drive. Kieren |

ill answer for Kieren, heaps more clearance. Trust me it is soo much better mounting them there, as no rocks hook up on the motors and 2 they dont get scratched at all Last edited by BundyCrawler; 09-07-2011 at 04:10 PM. |
