Wow those are saaawwweeeeet. Ya if you decide to sell them I would prob want a set about 6.5" tall for the wheels and tires prob in the 7.5" tall range. Looks awesome though nice work.

Thanks guys. I do think a 6.5" OD would be better as well.

How many DH slugs do ya think I can fit under the knuckle?

So, just getting around to making a 2nd wheel .

This time in the 6 inch flavor. And now I am wishing I would have stuck with my first instinct to go with 6.5. Oh well, I am going to stick with the 6" for now cause I am running low on tires to cut up and I can fit more than one wheel on a sheet of material (the 7" hurt the wallet).

This is how they compare...

Delrin lust...

I really like the idea behind the wheels, i believe that the 6.5 will be the ticket.

Did you get your chassis dialed to where you like it? Interested in a chassis for sure.

I do like me some delrin.

Yeah, I can't wait to get a 6.5 knocked out to see how it looks.

The chassis is actually something that I worked on a bit this weekend. Got some ideas I am kicking around to improve the lower link mounting.

....

Finally, I have 4 functioning wheels/tires. Sitting at 17.75" wheelbase and 12.5" wide outside of tires. Trying to decide if I want to countersink 88 holes or just stick with button heads for the beadlock rings.

6.0" wheel/tire/foam combo = 16.5 ounces

Working on a new version of the Retrac that will also be going topless (my first bodiless chassis).

But first, I have been in need of some new links. I took a page from Don's (billetworks) thread and added some show cuts that greatly reduce the weight. These are 0.7oz each.

Thanks!

Got about 1/3 of the way done on the chassis. Still need to set up the front links and then do the top.

Adjusts 1/2inch front and back, so 1 inch overall.

Getting there. She's a roller...

Now I gotta do the top and some new upper links. And I'll get some better shots of the updated Retrac chassis.

how are you liking the low profile tire and wheel combo??
I want to try something like you..but maybe with just a bit more sidewall??
a 6"+ wheel and 7 to 7.5" tire..??
have you tried building a rover on to your 6" wheels yet?
seems like a 6" wheel with 1.5" worth of rover sidewall and tire would be a killer combo??
I dont have any super building experience...and i'm really torn on a tire and wheel combo........seems like so many like the blast wheels...but is that because of performance?? or just easy avaiablity??

Going to go back to a body with the same v?.?? Retrac chassis.

Working on some new wheels to shave some weight. The wagon wheels weigh in at about a pound each.

This one is just to proto an idea, it will be going bigger once I get everything worked out. This is the same size as an XTM Thorn or HPI Blast (4.5" diameter). This wheel is not a beadlock, to shave some weight and also see if I even mind not have a beadlock. Shoe goo peels off pretty easily, so the bigger version may not even get a beadlock. I am shooting for a weight comparable to a Thorn, yet the ability to change offset. This wheel has the ability to have infinitely adjustable offsets.

4.1oz and still have some weight to shave....a Thorn weighs 3.5oz
