A couple things about gluing: A, you mentioned that the CA failure left you with sleeves of solid glue. This means 2 things. The structure was strong enough to destroy the adhesion... and the surfaces didn't have enough "teeth" to powder the CA as I suspected it might. I may have made them too smooth with the second pass. They looked pretty, though... You made that bond much better by sanding the joints down. I'm very interested in seeing if the JB fails to adhere to the bores, yet sticks to your joints. In any case, the next shafts will be drilled only (1 pass), and will have a lot more teeth. Quicker, cheaper, better. You are running 18mm of overlap (plus a touch at the head). If that holds up, the next test will be the middleweights (shaved, but not treated) with 20mm sockets. As soon as we know more, I'll cut more shafts. |

I think I identified the source of the gear explosion!!! After examining the drive line I noticed small notches on all 4 UJ's the were wearing onto them at full lock. aparetnly I cut the rear wheels all the way and they much have jammed momentarily and sheared off a gear in the box. Soo I think I need to do a litttle more grinding on the UJ's to keep this from happending again. You can see it in the photo... it's a prety harsh gouge into the metal. |

I gotta say: You have the perfect attitude for effective R&D... tenacious. "Grrr" my ass. I suspect you enjoy this process almost as much as I do. You thanked me for my work, it's time to thank you for the returns I'm getting now. You are the perfect guy to test the first Mad/Max, and we'll make this work. You have the "factory" behind you... Fire at will. |

Just a quick update... so far about 3 packs of carpet testing and 1 pack pavment/curb testing and the JB on the UJ's are still holding strong!!! This is a good sign. Once I got the broken gear fixed one of my UJ's seams a little rough. I'm sure it's due to the fact that it was the UJ that jammed causeing the gear shaft to shear off. I think the OFNA UJ's are going to end up being the bast over all bet for this deal. I'll try them once I destroy these UJ's...

Hey I was wondering around the Ofna web site and saw lots of hubs with almost any off set. Little pricy but if you had to widen your rig, their there for the picking.

Ofna is 1 brand I haven't messed with yet. The UJs are pretty high quality, are their rigs typically up to those standards? | |

So this last weekend I was able to put the old Super to the test... it was a resounding success! Surprisingly enough the JB weld held all four shafts intact with no issues or even a sign of loosening up. I'm totally stoked about this. Now, it's on to longevity testing, lets see just how much abuse these things can take before they explode! Here's a poser shot I took at the comp... And here's a video of the comp run, it's a little jacked up because my phone wasn't shooting well for some reason... I need to get a real camera! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LoTm_...yer_detailpage |

| Re: Super Experiment... :& Did you use a song from youtube's selection, or did you embed the song in from one you had on your computer? EMI is a record label, so to protect their rights, you might have used a song from an artist from this list: EMI Artists and EMI's Website Youtube has really been cracking down on directly using copyrighted material, so when their software detects that a song is used without permission, they are pressured by the Labels to block that video. You should be able to either upload a new one without music, or go into Youtube settings and "Audio Replace" with a song Youtube has cleared for use. On topic: glad to hear it is holding up. If I weren't so busy with school and work, I'd be out there crawling too. |

That makes sense. I'll have to render it again without audio or make my on audio track the old school way. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk |
