Thanks for the input... now I know what additional research I need... resistors... BTW i tired the POT to see if it worked and it did for about 3 seconds till it gave up the white smoke... I got a larger more durable POT... 6 seconds... i think I need to take a basic electronics class so I can better understand current and resistors and such.

So this is what I've done so far... I'm shooting for the same suspension angles I designed into my Rock Hawk chassis because that seams to give me awesome break over and great stability... so after looking at the chassis for about an hour, this is what I decided on for now.

I also swaped some of the rod ends forom the stearing to the lowers to puch the WB out a touch... fully compressed it sits at 18in resting sprung it sits at 17.5in. Tomarrow I'll test it out if the wether holds.

I moved the skid to a few different location to eyeball how I wanted this to be cut, then decided on this.

I'm still playing with the rear link placment... I'll probly move them back to the bottom hole once I get my 30 degree high clearance links made.

Lastly I got my BEC wired to the rear servo, now I'm crankin 446oz with the rear... it's perfect now. All I need it a HH BR-XL for this beast and a 3S and we'll be rockin!!!

Well I took it out for a test today and it wasn't very stable. I narrowed it down to the fact that I still had the 3 link in the back. I didn't have any more 1/2 in delrin to make a servo mount for the rear so I cut 4 pieces of 1/8th inch and bolted it together so that it would work out for till I get more material... anyhow, will head out to Palmerton tomarrow for a little more testing.

Next, I've got to figure out how to add some caster to the c's... I was looking at to tonight and it souldn't be too hard. I just need to get me some AX-10 C's to try my idea.

Alright fells I think this bugger is as comp worthy of a roller on a budget you can get. I made some changes and took her out On t he rocks in Palmerton today for some practice/tuning.

Last mods that I need to come up with are:
- Clocking the C's
- CVD's
- High Clearance Steer link
- Better Motor/ESC
- Custom Bodiless Comp Chassis

Part's on order:

4 - Better Quility Bearings for the Axles(stock ones are starting to fall apart)

Well, I got two of the super Panthers done... Only problem is that they are rippling a little on the surface... Any idea why? I'm thinking more foam to stretch them out?




Not sure why it's rippling so bad in this one but not the first one.

The rippling is because you are taking something curved, and straightening it out. If you look at some of the other super tires, they sometimes do this. One thing that helps is using super-sized sidewalls.

Using bigger foams might help though.

They are 7 inches tall as they sit now. I was going to use the moab sidewalls but I really like the narrowed moabs for high traction surface's... that and I don't know if I really want an 8 or 9in tire, seams to me like that might get a little unstable or have too much tire role I would think... I could be wrong but that's just my thought on it...

I wish my scale wasn't packed in a box because I'm curious of the weight difference. They feel almost half as heavy which will do wonders for my wheel speed and stress on the drive train.

I did stuff them with the stock moab foams and they feel just about perfect for the weight of the supper. As soon as I get the other two finished I'll try them out and see just what they feel like.

I will probably shoot for about 8" tall for my tires, but may end at 7.5". The moabs are about 7.25 or so mounted on full width axial beadlocks. I got my moabs specifically to use the sidewalls (since they are really worn on the treads)

Well, I got all 4 of the tires finished. The last two are better than the first two... The Foams after closer inspection could have been a little taller to fill out the wrinkles. If I work the tires the wrinkles go away. The main problem I see is that the foams aren't siting properly so the tires are a little lopsided. Well, I guess it's off to the store to find some foam to make it better. Once properly stuffed, they should puff out to at least 7.5 niches would me my guess judging by the amount of wrinkles.

These tires drastically improve the handling of the rig. The throttle doesn't feel sluggish, I have my wheel speed back and the DIG actually holds better now. Now I just need to get her back on the rocks to compair performance. Best of all, the sidewalls don't fold over and I get just enough ripple that it should totally grip the rocks really nice.
