Uh oh.....that, the saying under your name and seeing the smile on your face when you drove my super is telling me that you might be wanting one of these chassis soon....

You'd be right if I didn't already have a different chassis on the way. . . .

Thanks again everyone.

For now we can call it a one off custom. I'm trying hard to get steering kits done and available so theres no way I could take these on too.

It works out with the panels on it, just tough to visualize. It was checked out while at ECC. Very forward thinking. The Moonbuggy does not look like a real car either. Just my two cents.

I missed where in the rules it says it has to look like a real car. It says should. I know this is splitting hairs, I think it is a cool design and I would want to have one, when I build a SUPER.

2.1.4 - Bodiless vehicles: Must be a self-supporting, structurally complete, rigid frame. The roof must be raised a
minimum of 1” from the main chassis to resemble a cockpit. The frame sides must be an overall minimum of 1” tall (The
cockpit & frame side are to be measured vertically from where the hood intersects the cab). Bodiless vehicles should resemble a 1:1 vehicle.

I guess I had a few to many beers when I was designing it, but at the time it looked EXACTLY like a 83 chevy pickup...wierd

Sweet! Glad your on the level now! I feel sooooooo much better!

All joking aside though. I understand what you're saying...but bodiless "specification tickling" chassis's are part of the game that is being played right now and I don't see it changing anytime soon. without calling any other vendors out, I will say that I feel this chassis "looks wise" is on par with what they have going on. I drove my bodied super for a long time and watched outlandish bodiless creation after outlandish bodiless creation pop onto the scene. It never bothered me in the least...Just more, tougher competition.."bring it on!" I have seen places where I like a body and I have seen places where the bodiless is clearly better. It's time for me to play that game and this is my attempt at it. I love it and think it looks and hopefully works awesome!

side note: If you're gonna go around bitching about every bodiless chassis out there and how they dont (in your opinion) look like "real" trucks, then you're gonna be a very busy person...and will accomplish nothing. But rock on man! more power to ya.

Well, that sucks that that happened to you...but I dont remember seeing your chassis design nor would I have said anything about it if I had. I guess it's just not my way to go into somebodies build thread and start throwing my negative opinion around in an effort to try and faulter somebody else's project.

Fact is...this chassis design was given blessing by one of the biggest sticklers in the rules committee at ECC...so, I'm not worried.
