I just did a write up in the electronics section on my 6i setup. I quoted it so that its in this thread. Super is the reason I went stick in the first place. Maybe this will help someone.

It can be a bit confusing to drive and very confusing setting up for the first time. I wanted to use it for super first, but I couldn't go back and fourth to a pistol with 2.2p. I had to drive it for both. I did a lot of research; like going back through every page of electronics section looking for anything to do with the dx6i. The twinstick tech thread is somewhat usefull, but I just couldn't find what I wanted, and didn't really know what I wanted in the first place. I spent some time just carrying around the remote, familiarizing myself with it. I tried every setup I heard or read about, TurboFest, is a great stick driver, his setup just boggled me, but I'll be the first to admit, it works for him. I found I had to seperate it in my mind; I couldn't do both throttles on one stick and both steering on the other stick. So I just ignored the rear steer for a minute and just set it up for my 2.2p after nats fully committed.

My setup started with a simple idea, throttle on the left stick, steering on the right stick. From here it gets confusing, I am trying make this simple cuz it took a lot of thinking on my part.
Front esc is throttle (up/down) on the left stick, simple.
Rear esc is elevator (up/down) on the right stick.
I used a mix to have normal throttle
Mix 1 pic below

The master is left stick(throttle) and the mix is on the flap/gyro switch. Switch down, left stick is master, right stick does PROPORTIONAL.
I wanted to turn the proportional off, so I setup elevator d/r switch to ignore inputs from right stick(up/down).
Flap switch down, elevator d/r switch up = 4wd
flap switch down, elevator d/r switch down = proportional based on right stick input adjustment
Flap switch up, elevator d/r switch up = front dig
Flap switch up, elevator d/r switch down = completely independent throttles

Are you confused yet?

To simplify things a little lol, I setup a throttle hold at neutral(stick centered) to achieve rear dig
Flap switch down, elevator d/r switch up, thr hold switch up = rear dig

Front steering is aileron (left/right) on the right stick, again; simple
Rear steering is rudder (left/right) on the left stick, this can be intimidating
I setup rudder d/r switch to tone it down to 30%, this was enough for me but you could turn it off altogether

The switches aren't necessarily in their permanent location, and I do want to add a push button on/off for front dig. The DX6I is working great for me and I have no interest in going to a different remote. Ask any questions you have, and I will have updates...

Sticks rock!

This rig will be running soon, even if I have to WILL it together.

I have put alot of time into the axles lately and will soon have them together, a bit lightenend

And this is my super Viper. I have a couple screws to replace and make body panels. Its close.

I'm at a standstill with wheels and tires. Not sure what to do and I know I got decesions to make.

I got most of the electronics together, but the rear servo, I'll take care of that in the coming weeks tho...

I've been putting in alot of time on this rig lately. I'm planning on it running soon. I haven't mentioned it much yet, but these are what I've been working on. They'll work great with the link mounts I got from dlux

Got the first 2 done, but not finished with the other two, but by next weekend...

Thank you very much I took my time with the first long side, and I've finished the short except the notch in the side of the face for the bearing race. Getting ready to do that right now

Mounted

Rear axle is almost done, c's will slide on with enough force. And the knuckles are pretty clearanced. Links are on the short list as are tires.

Waiting on hexes, a bec, and some bigger pinions. And I'm sure theres more to come.

Its more like determination than motivation. I want this rig to perform at nats, that means drive time. And I'm running out of time.

This rig may be drivable next week...maybe...

Still waiting on some parts.

First wheel done

Spent yesterday afternoon working on the 2nd pair of axle tubes. Got them done at the end of the evening, still have to mount them.

I didn't get to make a servo mount for the 2nd servo, but its progress

Been busy, I'm getting close.

The checklist is getting down to the details. I know I'll be wiring it up this week.

The rear axle just missing servo and mount

Picking up my 2nd 7980 tomorrow, Thanks Steelerzman

Thanks, I've been working hard at it. It's almost ready to all go together. Building the shocks tonight, then rig assembly.
