The reason I'm asking is, we broke a steering arm on the MT. When i order parts i was going to change the hub to the MS8 size so if we change rims later. My son like the bigger tires on the MS8.
If your not understanding what Adam was saying, they will not interchange with each other. The steering arm on the MT is different than the MS8. I think Integy.com has wheels & tires I think fits the MS8. If you want to be easy on yourself, I bought the 3.2's from maximizer and Imex rubicons.
They are just over 7" tall.
Keep in mind that the MS8 has 8MM axles and the MT has 5MM axles. You could adapt the MS8 hubs by making bushings to fit the MT.
This puts in to another story of power loss for the huge tires. Good luck!

When you went to the taller tire, what did you do to make up for the power loss? gearing change and motors?

Sorry for all the newbe questions but i have one more. From what i see, the MT has metal gears or you CAN get metal gears but the MS8 you cant get metal gears correct?

The MT has metal gears, which also fit the Mad Crawler (stock is plastic)... and the Max has plastic gears. I found aftermarket metal (final spur) Max gears in stock... in Finland.

You will notice some power lose. I switched to 10 tooth in the rear and running Venom Fireball 55 t motors. Their cheap and rebuildable. And yes that is the wheel size in inches

Went to Rock City with my son yesterday for a little play time.I haven't had the The crawler out for sometime. Been working 6 days week. The Venom fire balls work very well. Still need to put the 10 tooth in the rear.

I ran 4 battery packs and no broken parts.

The BTA steering (will post pics later) worked flawless.

I need to get rid of the socket head screws on the rock rings. They seem to hang up in the rocks. I plan to remove them and countersink the holes to put flat heads in them.

For the the first time I used my CT6B. Its a whole new ball game. Started to get the hang of it on the second battery pack. Thanks to Losikid for sending a new stick for the left side. No more ratchet stick on the left.

Thanks to Eric for the hub bushings. They were perfect. Had a couple of hard falls, no bent stubs!

Hey, thanks to you for a good smooth trade!

What did the stick conversion cost you? I'm not fond of the stock set up.

Eric, I was searching thru the electronics section and found that Losikid was doing conversions to several stick radios. I sent a PM to him to find out how and what I needed. He answered back and said that he would search thru his stuff and see if he had the parts. With out further disscusion, the module showed up in the mail. I contacted him to pay for the shipping and his response was I've got it ($3). The conversion consist of one right stick module installe in the left side rotated 90 degs. You have to resolder the wires on the opposite pods to get throttle up and down.

Thanks.

I'll put a dead 6B on my WTB list. The conversion sounds like it's just what I need.

Well done. Nice fit, looks like it was designed in from the beginning.

Thanks guys, It just came together after moving the servos to top.
Those hobby king servo horns have 3 threaded holes which made it easy.
Now i working on the tires. Using the Axial high steer knuckles gives me more steering so the tires rub on the shocks. I'm removing all the lugs on the inside of the tires.

Well I haven't posted in a while. Been running SCT on carpet. Found some time this weekend to work on the new chassis. Do you want to see it. I slapt together the panels to see how things were lining up. Looks like the AutoCad did its job.

Looking good!

What do you think killed the ESC? What's your plan to replace it?

Maybe some stickers and take it to Oregon on vacation. Still got to change my battery connectors to deans. I've got enough room on my skid plate to use a 5000MAH 20C. Long run time for playing.
