Default ~how wide are your blast wheels?~

thinking about building a set of hpi blast....I noticed lots of peoeple narrow them.... but to what??
most the super threads dont say what they narrowed them to?
1.5" 2.0" or 1.0 or even 1.25"

I dont want crazy pizza cutters so I was thinking 2.0"???

The couple sets I've done have been 1.5 and 1.25 measured at the tire bead grooves of the wheel not overall. What tire you plan to run can make a difference on how narrow to go.

I just finished mine, 1.65" outer bead seat to outer bead seat. I cut and shut a set of Sedonas, 1.5 per wheel, to go on them. At 8" tall I'm amazed at what they will climb compaired to my old narrowed 7" Moabs.

It really depends on the tire your planning to run. If its 2.2 based just remember this. Would you run a 2" wheel on your 2.2. The tread does not get wider, and would most likely do some funky folding if you stretched them over a very wide wheel. Plus on a blast wheel the width comes off the inside. The wider it is, the more it is into the links.

I have my spare set of machined blasts sitting here on my desk.
