Well I got the super up and running last night and already I can see I'm gonna have to put some work into them. They came with a cracked c-hub and I knew that going into these. But the knuckle was rotating and causing problems with binding etc. Before I bought these I had a plan for the tubes anyway.
So due to these parts like the C-hubs that are extremely hard to get if you break one I also didn't care much for the design of threaded tubes on both ends. Just seems to leave room for things to rotate even if they are clamped tight on the threads. So the current plan is to make my own tubes. So the gear case end will have the same threads and the OD diameter will all be the same but the knuckle side of the tube will be similar to an rcbro splined end. So I will be able to use VP C-hubs and and eliminate the threads on the knuckle end.
So as soon as it came together its now apart again and undergoing some big changes. I did get to drive it around a little bit though and I can't wait to get it back up and running again.

Noisy?

Great looking build BTW!

Well haven't had it together for to long at all but it seemed that the rod ends were squeaking. Maybe after a while they smooth out. Not sure why that is exactly.

Noisy? Like a creek or a jingle? Do they feel like they have less play in them than the traxxas ends? My super wiggles axles wiggle side to side so bad, I hate it. Even with all new rod ends.

I doubt there is a big difference between the traxxas and rpm ends as far as travel. You sure its not maybe link seperation or maybe a couple of loose rod ends?

Weird. For me it's the opposite. I hate using revo ends because they are a bit tighter than I like and they wear out quick. Rpm ends are MUCH smoother and last 2x as long. Maybe you got a blem set? Dunno

Ya could just be something as stupid as the TI threads are to long and pushing against the ball
ends. So don't put a lot of stock in my findings. I threw it together as soon as I could skipping a lot of details.

Where did the c'hub crack? At the bottom of the slit for the clamping area? Your tube idea sounds great. I never had any problems with mine rotating after I used red loctite and clamped the hell out of them. That's on a 2.2 truck however. Thanks Ty.

That pretty much sucks! I would have not guessed it to break there. I made new tubes to make my xr width, they are still threaded on both ends. Thanks for the picture! Ty

That really SUCK's U'd think the Funky Aluminum screw would have failed before the C hub broke weather from an impact or a wrench happy Gorilla .

The route ur going with new tubes and C's should be a great improvement.

Hope U get it done in time for our next comp.

I did most of the machining myself. Except for the threads. And a friend of mine already had the program saved in the mill from a previous project so it was fairly easy setting it up.

Time for a few more updates. My friend Dan Kinggee made me some weight hangers for the knuckle weights and we also made up the battery mount for it. Still have some odds and ends to take care of but I should have it ready for its first comp on the 20th.
