| xtm racing super class crawler new build
just finished brand new build of above. let me bore you/let you drool over this: *twin 55t novak comp crawl motors *twin tekin fx-r pro esc *twin futaba s9157 coreless motor digital servos *castle bec *traxxas 3cell 25c 11.1v battery *futaba 4pl radio this is a very difficult kit to build. the parts are deburred poorly. easily cut fingers on sharp edges. one serious design flaw : all the fasteners seem to be 2 or 3 sizes too small. light bashing has already bent some of the 2.5mm bolts. need serious bash guards to protect steer linkage. gobs of torque from the servos may bend bolts. even bolts that attach linkage to chassis are bent. driving comments: the thing hums like a swiss watch. true precision in tight tolerances in axles/gearbox can be heard and felt. stupid large amounts of torque from motors and sevos to go anywhere. awesome futaba 4pk is difficult to program. it has lots of fine tuning features that take a lot of time to learn. the poorly written manual is little help. any input (youtube) on trick tuning tips, i'll listen |
