| Ittybitty's 2012 Supah Rebuild
In typical fashion I once again procrastinated until the very last full week before a large event to get busy on at least one of my rigs. The Super has been left until the very last...probably because there's so much more to do In any case I figured it was time for a new thread to show off all of the new and improved goodies this rig will have. I won't be changing the chassis so it'll stay a YTown Super Juice. I like the looks and the performance of this chassis, as well as the abundant information to be found here on RCC regarding setup. I believe it was last Sunday...approximately 3 days ago that I contacted Marc (moes670) here on RCC about having him build me some links like he did for Diamond D's rig. Long story short...I received them today so let's get this started... Last edited by ittybitty; 08-29-2012 at 10:49 AM. |

Marc does awesome work, and gets it done fast! Locally I'm so spoiled with having EddieO @ Brood (5mins away) and Marc @ MF&W (40mins away), it's nice! The Super is off to a great start Ryan, keep it up! Last edited by BigBlackCummins; 08-29-2012 at 11:54 AM. |

It's the "textured" fiber chassis I picked up from Shelby about a year ago I'll have pics of it up later tonight. Just finished swapping the new links to the chassis and replacing the hardware in the chassis with AL. Pics and weights... The new links WITH the NEW tie rods...194 grams Old links WITH the NEW tie rods (just to make it easier to compare)...227 grams and a lot uglier |

I just came back in from the shop after modifying some 460 DH hubs to be spacers. I drilled them out to .112 (IIRC) so that the 4-40 x 3/4" screws would pass straight through them from the DLux wheels into the 850 hubs. I like this method since the SLW hubs have the concentric hub ring that the DH hubs will center on...just makes for a more solid mount. Needless to say my scrub radius is pretty bad, but it's just how it's gotta be at this point. I've worked on some other methods of mounting the wheels, but just haven't decided to actually follow through since they look much better in their intended format. With the DH spacers and the 850 hubs I'm sitting at 13 7/8" outside of the tires Crappy cell phone pic... ...and then sometimes the cell phone impresses the hell out of me... |

This looks to be the beginnings of an awesome rig, I look forward to seeing it at Nat's. Hanging with you again won't be too awful either. See you in a week Ryan! |

also! Soon enough...shocks are next! Things to do: - finish rod end mod on shocks and mount - figure out how to make the shocks clear everything - modify 2 more DH hubs for rear spacers - shrink electronics (dual BRXL's, dual BEC's, Rx) - build knuckle weight holders...not really looking forward to this part - drill transmission gears - new body panels - I'm sure there's more... Parts needed: - new wheel hexes...drill out for 300's - Super 300HD's...picking them up at Nats - SDS knuckle adapters...kingpins Last edited by ittybitty; 08-29-2012 at 05:51 PM. | |
