Default New To RC, Exceed Mad Torque Build

Hey guys, new to this rc crawling stuff. Not new to offroad crawling though, love my wrangler.

How all of this started out:

Modded it to take a 7.2v rechargeable battery. Also did some shock adjusting and minor body trimming. Didn't really like how it performed and the gears in the rear axle were trying to strip on me.

Decided to pick up a mad torque in orange Played with it stock for about 5 minutes and didn't like how the shocks came from the factory. Decided to outboard them on the frame. Played with it for a little bit more and changed out the spring shim.

Then made some skid plates for it today out of some aluminum. Cost around 87 cents from Lowes. Also put 4oz of stick on wheel weights in the front wheels today too.

Haven't been able to get out and crawl with it on the rocks since the skid plates or the weights, but hopefully it all works well.

And here is a pic of the 1:1

No, not really, haven't looked much either. What all have you done to yours?

These are what I'm looking at getting:
ST Racing Precision steering knuckles for Axial (SPTSTA80004O) | RC Planet

Also looking at making the rear anti steer linkage into solid aluminum bar. Don't like how they bend and steer the rear at times.

I honestly don't think I would be happy with anything smaller than the 1/8th. For the terrain around me it works extremely well.

The skid plates work really well. Actually helps glide over stuff rather than getting stuck on the motors. Played around with the links and shock positions, since I still have a broke knuckle. Planning on building a tube chassis out of brake line sometime soon. Not sure how long I want the wheel base to be.

(The hole in the skid was for dirt/water to drain out)

It probably will. May have to use some spacers Or grind the hex. Not sure what space you have from pin hole to bearing carrier. Go to nitroRCX and look up Mad Torque. Your XR wheels will not fit these.
