Default Dlux - Exceed MT axles

I had a customer come to me and he wanted axles. As most of us are when we get into the super scene, we are a bit confused on what to get with all the options. What we came up with was the cheapest set of axles that did not compromise strength or weight. Not an easy task usually.

Here is what we came up with:
Exceed MT gear cases
Exceed MT metal gears
Exceed MT locker
SDS customs small 3rd gears

Dlux axle tubes
AX10 chubs
RC4wd Bully knuckles, king pin bearing mod and 14mm axle bearing mod
Dlux 70* universal shafts
Delrin wheel hubs

Dlux upper link mount, shaved .055 off the back side and will run the upper links butted next to each other.
Dlux TI steering links

Those are sweet, I think both small gears will need replaced, not just the third. The one I'm working on snapped both like twigs over and over, so he finally gave up and bought bullies! If you get both small gears from SDS you will probably be good to go.

He broke the small 2nds? I wonder if it has to do with the shock load of breaking the 3rds?

Either way, pretty easy upgrade if so.

Well, sometimes it was the third, then sometimes it was the 2nd. It never was both at once. I even switch him back to the 3.2 wheels instead of the 8" monsters, but it didn't help. So, we are going to use the MT stuff for a 2.2 and move on to the bullies he got for the super. Switch out both small gears and it should be awsome! The other plus is I bet those are really light weight for a super!

Did he break them in the front only?

11.4oz each RTR Almost as much as a 2.2 Berg.

He could do Berg gears and a Berg locker and lose a bunch of weight.

Most of the time it was front, couple of times in the rear. He never broke a 2nd in the rear just the third. Front broke both constantly.

I'd be all over a set of those if I wasn't already broke from giving you all my money.

Actually I still have bergs... ,maybe you need to have some "rent to own" program.

For clarification when u say exceed mt are you referring to the 1/8 monster truck or the max torque ?

To be honest, I am not so sure when it comes to the RTR cars, I just buy the parts.

For me, it boils down to the gear cases and the gears which look like they can be found on the 1/10 mad crawler and the 1/8 Mad Torque.

If youre looking for a starter super class car using these parts, I think you want the 1/8 Mad Torque.

I honestly just want a set of these axles whichever way is going to be more cost effective. Thank you for clarifying though

It's more cost effective to buy the whole crawler then upgrade it as you go. Or go balls deep and buy them from dlux

The MT super axles are a great idea. I'm embarking on another slow berg build or I'd be jumping all over a set of these. Another sweet idea from dlux fab! I like the rent to own program idea

Usually my custom stuff or building cars is pretty fast but on these, it will probably be a month or so since I have to hand make everything.
