Default Filotr14lsdude's Super switch

Hey guys I've slowly been building this up for a while. Figured I should post up some pictures I took along the way.

So this is what I started with.
Bwd super chassis
Bully axles
2x fxr
2x7980
Lots of home made bits.

This is it in action
http://youtu.be/Fl_-pgu7_Jk

I decided I wanted a change and built up a super juice. Then the super switch came out, because I have a 2.2 switch naturally I would get the super switch when available.

Current spec
Chaotic super switch
Bully axles-drilled gears, delrin tubes, ax10 chubs, home made knuckles with bigger bearings
Ti links
Brood 45t motors
Brxl esc's
2xccbec
2x7980
Y town cf wheels 850 vp hubs
Super pit bulls made by crawler innovation.
Ti tie rod/ drag link.
Some sweet skins from Krawler Konceptz

Please forgive the photos if they look bad, I only took pictures using my phone. There will be some good photos coming very soon.

Since I removed to much material from the original knuckles I decided to fab my own up

They run the 14mm bearing mod and are zero Ackerman

While slowly building these wheels popped up on Rcc so I had to get them, I'm glad I did.

When I was looking at facing up some weights I found these brass rings already made, and the right size so I used these, like a tomi weight just super sized.

Got most of it installed and it sat there as a roller, with electrics, just needed some ti for steering. Big thanks to dan@ hulksta for letting me acquire some of his stash so I can get this going.

Since everything was ready I installed my skins and this bad boy is now ready to crawl.
Final weight came in at 3.1kg with no knuckle weight.
Need to hit the rocks to test this out.

I am intrigued to hear how the pitbulls work.

Is there a reason you chose that tire?

The rig looks pretty good.
I like how it's turning out.

Very nice looking rig. Seeing another super switch just makes me just that much more excited to build mine. Those super pitbulls just look mean.

Looking good so far

I ended up with these tires because when I contacted Crawler innovation about building some super tires for me he wasn't really keen. After a few emails he said he wanted to make a set out of the pit pulls 2's as there just new. Since I needed super tires and Eddie was keen to make them, they just happened.

I know they work really good on a scaler, so I could imagine they would be good on a super. After todays driving all I can say is they are really grippy on the rocks. I was more then happy with the way they preformed today.

Got a nice care package from Mr Dlux today.

Some new wheels for my pins, these were mounted onto some tech 5rims. It sucked if I had to swap. Having the 17mm hex and the vp hubs. So I got some other cf wheels so all I have to do is the wheel nuts.

I also got my self some of the dlux universals. He ground them out to allow 70degrees of steering. This is going to be fantastic. Just need to make them fit into the bully locker, it's all good though. Thanks heaps for your your help and answering all my questions regarding these.

Ill share my measurement for if any others want to do this mod.

Got my tires mounted up today.

I was sitting there looking at what's required to fit these in the locker. Then it clicked.

Just need time to get to some machines.

It's been a while since I updated this thread.
Have had a fairly substantial change.
I really liked the torque of the servo strengtheners, however I didn't like the constant skipping I had. In binds I would always pop the gears, I checked my servos for the broken spigot in the out put gear. Neither servo had an issue. I don't know why they kept skipping so I converted to dual servos. Now I running 4x 7980 and I'm loving the power.

Then I added some becs

With he new steering power my cf wheels faces started to crack, Dan at hulksta engineering made me some spacers to strengthen up the wheel.

Then I crashed and bent my home made steering arms.

Off to hulksta engineering for some fresh cf ones

After installing the unis I got from dlux, this is the steering angle I'm left with. A much better angle then stock.

Whoops, I seemed to get stuck in a hole and got a bit throttle happy.

I figured I should make my own shafts.

Some pictures along the way of the universal part

A picture with the stubs installed.

Now I need to get out for a drive and see how strong they are.
