is superclass dead? I am fascinated by the youtube videos I see of the supers but nobody does them and I cannot find parts or even decent used rigs anywhere, any advice on where or how to build them and if any superclass stuff is coming back? I would love to compete if I ever get one built. |
Re: is superclass dead? Supers are completely builders rigs. You can find vendors that can help you source most of the parts, such as Dlux and RCbros. Currently it seems that berg gearboxes and custom axle tubes are the favorite base to start from. |
Re: is superclass dead? The class is growing on the East coast, more supposed to be at nats this year than last. |
Re: is superclass dead? They are really fun to drive, it was always my favorite class |
Re: is superclass dead? Well hopefully it comes back south west then. I've had everything from a scaler to a full out rock bouncer 4000kv wraith on custom chassis and I yanked the motor for front dig and an 80 turn motor cause the slow calculated crawling is so much more interesting to me. Only can do so much with the motor on chassis setup versus motor on axle. Guess I'll order some super bully's and go to town. Quick question I've researched the punk dig and other voltage cut type devices do they make a dig unit that can do a bias ratio instead of complete cut off voltage. Something like 80% to front 20% to rear for steep climbs? |

Re: is superclass dead? I know that at least 4 members of our club will be running a super soon. I will be picking up my roller at worlds in two weeks. I have always enjoyed watching, time to step up to my own."thumbsup" |
Re: is superclass dead? Super bully's, that should also be a great start. |
Re: is superclass dead? The are alive and well. Just like the 8 track tape, bell bottom plaid pants, and that sweet flip open mobile phone. Only thing better than a super is a 1.9. |
Re: is superclass dead? Supers have always been run in the PNW and always will, they will never die out in our club where we have at least 7-8 members that comp them regularly. Looks like the interest is picking up again on the east coast also."thumbsup" |

A flysky gt3c from hobby partz can be hacked into an 8 channel for a little over a $100 or you could get the software kit and do it yourself for under a $100 |
Re: is superclass dead? Airtronics mt4 not only will work, but has a model type for a dual esc/dual steering rig. Turns out there's a few supers in my area, just showed up at a comp with mine and a few guys tell me they have them... Awesome... If you build it, they will come. |
Re: is superclass dead? What's a super? Is that like a really fast 2.2 Pro? |
Re: is superclass dead? I'm going dual sticks, I have an MT4 but I really think sticks is the best way to go with a super. Now to wrap my head around how to drive it. |

Re: is superclass dead? I drive mine with sticks.... Works good right stick, all 4 and rear steer. Left stick front only (overrides all 4) and front steer. Flip a switch and front and rear are independent |
