Big Red Crawler

Here is my long ago started clod based crawler
Runs on 550 motors with super rooster and 7T pinion
Punk rc steering controller for on the fly 4 wheel independent f/r steering
Spektrum receiver with led control unit for fully functioning stop, turn, brake, reverse and forward signals.
Also led "rock lights "for each wheel
Tires are rc4wd 3.2 rock crushers on maximizer aluminum bead locks .
Rcguy lower links and motor mounts.
I machined the led light bars, servo mounts, upper links and steering links.
Also made the aluminum body panels and roof esc fan.

Re: Big Red Crawler

If you turn the front links around so the holes are closer to the axle instead of the chassis you'll lower the height a little and have some better crawling ability. Looks good though. And damn did you cram some electronics in that thing.

Thanks for the tip!
And yes those electronics are u=in there like a rubics cube.
Would be so bad but the led running lights controller puts it over the top..

Re: Big Red Crawler

No problem. I didn't realize it had a light bar on top. Adds to the already scary amount of wires in a clod crawler. But, it doesn't look bad for how wires are in there. They're all in place and won't get hung up or pulled out by rocks.

Re: Big Red Crawler

Yes there is a lot of wire that cab. Eventually I plan on making a drop pan \_____/ panel for mounting it instead of the flat ________ aluminum it has now. I used to have driver head in there but no room now.

Re: Big Red Crawler

That'll help. Get even more weight down low. Shouldn't be to hard as long as you have a hammer and a nice edge. Or if you have an actual metal bender. Either or.

Re: Big Red Crawler

They look like aluminum clod axle gearboxes. Not quite sure what brand though.

Re: Big Red Crawler

Nice! I agree though, flip those front links and it'd be even better.

Re: Big Red Crawler

Might even try flipping the rears and experimenting with various locations from where they are now. I suspect you'd wind up closer to center on both front and rear.

What size lower links did you go with?
