Default 1/8 Mad Spirit

Hi
I have bought mad torque 1/8 about months ago.
Have done some changes, and this is the result of it.
Thinking if i could make some more mods so it could crawl better, if you have any suggestions then wright me.
This are the stages that i went to from:

First steps of knowing the RC custom builds

And my final(for now) build

I also recently bought a mad torque. I would start with the no/low cost mods first.
I stated by relocating the shocks to the outside of the body. Raise the top and lower the bottom. Next I added wheel weights. 3 oz. In each front and 2 oz. In each rear....helped quite a bit with traction. Next I made all new links.
I also added a skid plate under the motors. They were getting pretty beat up. Works great!!
Next I am looking at upgrading some electronics, cut'n'shut some tires and beef up the knuckles.
Skim over the mad torque threads. Some of the members on here are doing some pretty sweet mods to thee things.

Have fun and keep us posted on your build

Hi
Thanks.

The mods i did:
-Cut the inserts inside the wheels
-Added weight 120g on each wheel
-Installed 2 new serwos 15.5-17kg each
-Bought a new Ap 4ch
-Made 4WS for the better steering
-Made my own body, still chassis is the same.

Im thinking on making some new links, cuz mine has a lot of stability, so i wont be lowering it, im thinking on getting it on the same level but making links go higher.

Also if anyone knows what bigger wheels can i put in it, on not a high price then post me.

In the future maybe i will cut/remake my chassis and maybe a better body, but got to trash this first

Im updating my crawler project.
Bough ending switch and will be doing a 5$ serwo that will be switching the rear engine off so it will be a somekind cheap DIG option, better than nothing

Chassis is made of laser cut steel 1.5mm wide. So the chassis is light and durable, the steel i used is stainless of course.

Cannot upload bigger pictures on my Polish free sites, do you know any sites that can upload free large pics on this forum?

You can click on the pics and they will be larger.

Also i`ve got all night to complete my project for the moment.

Bought Axial yeti Goodrich crawler 3.8 wheels, the problem is that they are good but could be better, sadly they glued them on the plastic rims so I cannot cut the insert to make them more "fluffy".

Tested my Super Crawler today.

Its much better, the engine is much higher than before so i have more space under the car.
Wheels have small holes to release the air, so i made 5 more holes on each wheel.
Sadly i didnt try rocks, only sand wood and stuff in the forest so i cannot say, but i will be "un-glue`ing" dont know how to spell it, cuz the insterts in the tires are much to stiff to be a crawler tires, so i will cut them or throw them out.

The other problem is that my front engine gets much more power than the rear, is sometimes helpfull but sometimes not. Dont know how to fix it, maybe my home made dig option did that. I will somehow find out.

Pictures come through good on "Zobacz całą galerię" site. Show your "homemade dig option". Keep us updated!

Hi another update, without pictures.

I did cut the tires out of the rims, and did "stars" with the inserts of the wheels, i will check the grip tomarrow.

The only problem that i have is that my serwos are weak, they are Turnigy 1501 (15.5-17kg) but i think that the power that gets to them is 4.6v.
If the wheel is in the air they turn and return like they should, but on the rough surface returning is quite a problem turning also.

Any cheap good serwos out there i can buy on 4.6v to do the trick?

A few pictures of my rig.

As you can see the tires are gripping like hell now and they look good too.

This was my last modification for the moment, but if ill have money then i will make:
Dual servo or just a better set of servos, then i will buy some axle cuz mine are in lets say not bad condition but they will break some day, got even some of the same moa axle on my eye for a cheap cash.

BTW.
Do you know what kind of engine is in my Mad torque stock?
Cuz I have a cheap auction in my coutry of 2xengines named :
AR 80x2T and there is a word TRUCK on them. Dont know if they are good, anyone have them?

Maybe i will have the 80x2t engines, then i will surely check them, I`m bidding an auction dunno if i will win it.

I am satisfied with my crawler for the moment, need another battery 8,4v and for now that will be all.

Thanks for watching my build, it is not over... just a little stop for the moment
