Clod Crawler Questions

I have a Clodzilla 4 that I have built to be a crawler. I 3D printed diff lockers and motor covers. I think I got it pretty set for now, but was wondering what to do for tires? I think the originals will work for what I’m doing, but are there other options? I would like to keep it within the stock tire size. And also any other ideas for it?

(btw I don’t know how to post pics)

Re: Clod Crawler Questions

RC4wd sells 2 decent options, you got the mud slingers that are a big bigger than stock at 6.5" but the compound is only their x4 medium so probably a bit better than stock but not much. the tread pattern will probably help you out more on the rocks though and you can sipe them to help that. The other option is their racing tires, basically a lightweight version of your stock tires but they come in their new x2s3 compound which is super soft and sticky.

I have a set if IMEX Rubicons that I got BITD - but it has been 10 years. Even then, cut-n-shut was the best way to go .

I have a set of tires off a HPI Savage XL that a re the same size as the Rubicons -- about 2/3 as wide as the stock Clod tires. - I'd look for something like that
