Re: My RN36 Build

What speed controller do you need for the transmission to work? Is it the Tamiya one only?

MudHoncho 03-21-2014 05:27 AM

I use the Traxxas XL5 esc, the transmission just needs a shift servo

Re: My RN36 Build

Oh cool I have an XL5 in my Tamiya Bush Devil but am not a fan because there is no drag brake on that ESC. I don't use the Bush Devil much due to its old brittle plastic and I am scared to smash it to pieces..lol

I guess I will try either the Holmes Hobbies BRXL or an Axial AE-2. The Axial AE-2 has an on/off switch which I kind of like for the oldschool Bruiser.

I am going to try and mount a Savox SC 1256-TG steering servo in the front of the Bruiser. I have a couple other crappier servos laying around that should work for the shifter. :)

We will see about the Savox servo. I guess I will run a CC BEC directly to it because I have heard it needs lots of power and the BEC should provide that. I will have a super wiring nightmare!! I plan on the full TLU-01/TLU-02 LED set up for lighting.

Nice! I'm not a fan of drag brake so the xl5 is good for me lol
