Stretching wheelbase

Was wondering if anyone has played with stretching the wheelbase of the bruiser? I'd like to stretch the wheelbase and still keep it leaf sprung. Was thinking the easiest way would be to cut the chassis by the trans crossmember and add in a little extra. Any thoughts?

P.s. I'll be doing this to a Chinese knockoff, haha.

It has been in the past. You usually pick up another frame and cut to the length of the wheelbase you want. Weld it in

Cool! I was hoping that would be a viable option. Should I take the extra time to box it in the area I make the joints, or should it be strong enough as it is?
At $200, it's by far the cheapest leafer chassis I could find. Let alone the fact it's rtr. I get a decent chassis for this project and a free hilux body for another.

You shouldn’t have to box the frame in. To add strength where the frame extension is welded. Cut some of the extra frame to fit inside the frame to add strength.
