Hey Likes2crawl,I didn't do so good on the first outing.I changed my foams from kreepee's to star cut foams and removing the sub C batteries off the knuckles made a big diffenence.no tracksion and seem to want to roll over backwards.I have made some weights for the knuckles and put the kreepee's back in the tires.I will post some pics of the comp tonite.

Hey CD13, first I wanna say that I like your rig, it helped inspire me to build a pimp cane

What 4s Lipo are you using? I just ordered a Thunder Power 3s 3850mah and two Sidewinders, but I'm thinking that I want to try a 4s, curious what your run times and wheel speed are like with a 4s?

That should work good for ya,Mine did great with the cells on the knuckles. when I went to the lipo I had a lot more wheel speed but without the weight on the front,it seem to want to roll over backwards alot.

So are you planning to remedy this? Will you stick with the lipo or go back to the cells on the axle?

I ran into a similar problem on my 2.2 pimp cane. I mounted the lipo towards the front but still on the back bone. Rather than go with a smaller lipo and move it down to the axle, I weighed the lipo and added the equivalent weight to the front axle down low. It fixed the roll over problem. My main concern with running cells mounted to the axles, is that cells are fixed to the knuckles. It is not as easy to swap out knuckle packs as it is a lipo mounted to the back bone. Am I correct in that thinking?

Yes I am sticking to the lipo.your right about the knuckle packs unless you use the pcv pipe mounting method I used. taking off the wheel and tire its possible to remove the battery pack.As for weight,I have made some lead weights that rap around the knuckles and hang down like the knuckle packs would.A Kamikaze copy but in lead.

I run a 3 Cell Lipo just above the front Servo and motor. Then run 3 Sub C cells on each front knuckle just for weight. There not even hooked up.
