Default My First Tuber

My homemade 2.2 clod. 55t motors, towerpro servo,9 tooth pinions, rooster esc, mudrock beadlocks,80mm shocks. I've only been crawling for 6 months and this is my second build so let me know what you think. I made the chassis out of 1/4'' brake line mig welded it then used soder to clean up the welds. New axle tubes and knucles from jpcustomrc. Lights buckets are from hobby store and led's from big5 for only 8$. It's all time 4wheel steer untill I get a 3 channel remote. I also plian to go to a 5.5'' tall tire for more clearance.

Crawls extreamly well! It's definatly comp worthy. It just needs taller tires for clearance (at least 5.5") because the axles are so big. That and the with of the axles are about the only disadvantages.

I like the looks of this rig, nice work.

I would say if the width bothers you, see about getting some rims with a high positive offset to make up for how wide the axles are.
run2jeepn has made his clods pretty narrow using different rims, check out some of his threads.

New rock stopper tires. These are the perfect size! They are tall for more clearance and narrow for better track width but dont hook up great. So I sprayed them with something like wd40 (diferent brand) and put them in plastic bag overnite and are much softer now. I know some people dont belive that wd40 does anything and maybe it dosent. (I've never tried it)But the stuff I use does because it actualy eats the rubber off the tires and makes them thinner and softer. I found out the hard way by leaving my imax's in a bag for 3 days and it warped them and made them so soft and thin they ripped trying to mount them up and they were hard to begin with.

Very nice! I like what you did with the whole stormtrooper theme. Your clod axles look awesome, I love that JP Custom stuff. And very nice fab work on your chassis.
