| Rx's Copperhead #0002
Nothing against the #1 ranked Area 51 chassis, but I figured I would try something different this year. The only truck that made me worry all season was........ The Copperhead. Kamikaze brought his truck down to my place a month or 2 ago and let me drive it. It was totally different from what I had been used to. I thought the lower belly clearance would be a problem but it wasn't and I LOVED IT, soooooooo.... Off to Tennessee I went to visit Jeff at his work to get my very own. Its very close to the same with a few things smoothed out. It's a little narrower and more laid back. This is what we got done today, we'll have the frame done first thing tomorrow. What do you think?? Last edited by RXcrawler; 02-02-2008 at 07:16 PM. |

Nice job Jeff. You should stamp or engrave the #0002 on the skidplate.

We (Jeff did most of it) got the frame done today!!! I'm really excited about this truck. Now I need to figure out how long I want it to be, Kamikaze has his at a 20" wheelbase and it is one big truck. My Area 51 was 17½". And can't decide on a color I'm thinking solid black or copper with black panels. The nuts attached to the frame is for the body panels. I think the link mounts will hold up to my driving style They are BEFCAKE...I think Jeff didn't want me coming back saying I broke it, so he made this one BOMB PROOF or Joey proof not sure which one. I'm surprised he actually let me bring it home!!! THANKS Kamikaze...I mean caddy...I mean personal fabricator...ol' buddy ol' pal. |

The first pics you posted... put some red side panels on it, tack some runners on the bottom and you'd have a great start to a scale Santa's Sled! :-P

Hells yea! That's gonna be badass! You gonna rip parts off the ol' Area 51 or is this gonna be a complete new build? However it's done, I'm sure it'll be nice! Cain't wait to drive it LOL! Heavy Oh, btw, did you ever build your peewee 1.9er? I'm starting mine...thanks to you and your suggestion! |

I never thought I'd drive a clod then i did, never thought I'd drive a tuber but I am...I see a trend here??? Seeing Kamikaze build it make me want to try to build one myself, but i know he made it look much easier than it really is. | ||

What size chain half links are those??? Looks like some of the stuff I use to put the bigger freight doors together with on some of the large capacity elevators I work on. Or maybe some of the escalators I've done. My guess is 35-40 series chain...maybe smaller?? Uber-Cool, Suprised 666 didn't get one |

Wow, those link mounts are definitely the beef. The OG Copperhead was at a 20" WB? Was it always? Didn't seem that long. |
