Hi guys, I know this is not exactly a crawler, but I figured that this is the best place to ask as all the Clod experts are here.. Anyway, recently built up a Clod and want to keep it relatively stock. But steering was just bad w/ the stock setup, so I changed it to some Micro Engineering steering kit.. here's a pic of the setup.. ![]() I know JunFac used to make one that looks like this and would seem to work but I don't see them any more.. any idea if someone still make something like this? ![]() Just want to make sure that the front steering links are protected a little bit somewhat.. Thanks!!

"Price as of 12/24/05..: $18.00" ...2005. Not only that, but there isn't a button to buy them. I'd suggest making a pair.. May not be easy, but there's a certian satisfaction from saying "I made that"

Thanks.. the NewEra won't work as it is designed to mount to NewEra's aluminum bumper and it won't clear the servo... :-(

Yeah, doesn't look like they are selling it anymore... that's the problem.. I don't have the proper tool to bend aluminum sheet... so I think I will just have to keep my eyes open.. maybe one of these days someone will have it for sale...

Thanks! I ended up getting a JunFac and 2 of those rc4wd skids from fellow forumers here... (thanks guys!) Still waiting for the JunFac unit to arrive.. that will go to the front, as it seems to protect the steering links.. I did install the rc4wd skid on the back.. The shape was kind of odd so I hammered it flat a little bit and gained some clearance. Here's a couple of pics: ![]()

Yeah Shane, thanks for your hook-up!! I really appreciate it!! I re-shaped the skid a little bit (not sure why it was in that shape to begin with.. hmm.. probably it was designed to protect some 4-links, etc.) so it conforms to the gearbox better! I am waiting for the JunFac unit to arrive and I will put that up front.. then my "stock"-ish Clod will be complete! Here's a couple of videos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XTtLdm-IctI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZsuPzmwKniU I know it is not a crawler, but figured that you guys would appreciate it still.. (hey, it is still a Clod, right?! :-P)

Yeah Chris, That was my concern as well.. I will probably just put on the regular screws... so they don't stick out as much.
